We did another early Christmas at our house and the girls were quite creative with Santa and reindeer snacks. Paige thought pickles, pears, apple slices and cookies and water would be a wonderful snack for them. They love their new sleeping bags and toys that Santa brought.
Our trip to Sheridan started out a bit rushed with packing at the last minute as we decided to leave Tuesday evening before the storm hit, but it was then spent well rested knowing we were safe from the snow!

We had a wonderful time in Sheridan enjoying Gma's daily meals, visiting the Y DAILY, taking the girls to their very first movie, playing with cousins and of course opening presents on Christmas day. The week flew by as usual but it was wonderful to spend time with grandparents and great grandparents!

Thanks to my family for some wonderful Christmas memories and spoiling the girls so we don't have to! :0

Grandad and Mima made a trip down to see us for an early Christmas celebration. Though it was a quick trip, we made the most of it! We hit Denver Zoo lights, opened presents (with the highlite of Paige's new twin doll named Lucy ((see the matching outfits)) and Reece's new dance gear with ballet slippers included), margaritas outside in the sun followed by an amazing dinner on T.Jay's new discatta. Thanks for a great few days and helping with the girls!

We had a great time up in Cody for Thanksgiving. We broke up the first half of the trip by staying with the Marso's. The girls loved Baby Kellan and we had a chance to catch up with "our kids" aka Monkey and Bear Bear. Thanksgiving in Cody was highlighted with a reunion of Jan, Chris, Cayden, Dylan, Kelly, Brad, Abby, Tagg, Betsy, Dan, GG, Papa and us. It was a great time. Betsy and Dan hosted 35 people on Thanksgiving day and it was a success! Great food, great people and a heart-felt speech from Betsy about being thankful for Dan's health and being together. A speech to bring us all to tears! T.Jay broke out my Dad's stash of Vazonka for all who was willing! Unfortunately most everyone came down with the flu bug, Dylan might have been hit the worst. So far, thankfully, our kids walked away scot free!
I had to add the picture of the Yak. Who has ever seen a Yak? I am glad we had the opportunity to do so as those animals are hilarious! The picture explains itself!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!

I had a few days off of work and decided to head up to Sheridan to see my parents and grandparents. Tjay was fishing with his friends in Casper. Boy did I feel rested when I got back. Went to bed with Paige each night at 8 pm and woke at 7 am. 11 hours for 4 nights sure did me some good!
It was great to see everyone as always and had fun playing at the YMCA or the Y "museum" as Paige would call it, the library, and the park.
Can't wait to see everyone at Christmas!

Phew...computer is fixed and we can now upload photos so here's some catch up!

Grandad and Mima came down for a visit to help with the girls so I could work while our nanny was gone. The girls had a blast with them and I think wore them, at least Grandad, out as we'd find him snoring mid-day or early evening on the couch! :) Paige seemed to be very concerned each night to make sure they were still staying with us and one night woke up to check on them!

Halloween was really fun this year. The girls participated in numerous activities and so they had the opportunity to wear their costumes quite a bit. Paige only wore her tiger costume once and then switched to Rapunzel for the rest (which left mom to wear the tiger costume). Reece chose to be Mufassa from the Lion King or a princess pending weather. This is the first year that Paige really got into it and I thought we'd just hit 4-5 houses in the neighborhood but she just keep going and Reece kept up!! Reece would say "Day Doo" (thank you) before they'd even open the door! By then end, we sat outside and handed out candy and if I wasn't watching Reece closely, she was eating all her candy THROUGH the wrapper!!!! Stinker! I finally had to put it away. She now knows the word "candy". Ugh. Paige had a great time handing out candy again this year which is so fun to see.

We had our first snow last week and so I bundled the girls up in the clothes (1/2 hour later after a few meltdowns) and we did some sledding in the yard. It lasted all about 20-30 minutes but whatever, we got out! Paige enjoyed it a bit more than Reece as she just stood around or sat in the sled. She's probably a bit like her mom in the cold weather! :)

Can't believe the holidays are coming up fast! This time of year always creeps up and then flies by!

Here are some pics and videos from the past two weeks.

Who Loves Their Mullet??

Reece's hair cracks me up on a daily basis. Paige had a mullet too, at this age, but for some reason, it's funnier on Reece! She loves it though, see for yourself....

Video and Race for the Cure

Image Image Image We received Abby's old bike with training wheels on it and T.jay pulled it out the other day to see if Paige would like it. She's been riding her strider bike all summer but she's so tall that even on the highest seat height, it's still too small. She LOVES her new bike was was ready to ride it at 7 am today! Reecie loves to try Paiges new scooter as well as I must say she's not afraid of it. She doesn't go far but she sure does try! The Marso's, Whitlocks and Gilpatricks did The Race for the Cure yesterday and all tie-dyed pink shirts! We got an array of comments and had fun! Reecie work a tu-tu with butterfly wings and I can't count how many people came up to her and told her how cute she was! She would reply with "Tay Too" (Thank you). Paige walked the majority of the way and wore her crown and wand. They had fun. We ended in the parking lot "tailgating" with mimosas. It's October and we've had numerous days in the 80s and so it's hard to believe fall is here. We are taking advantage of outdoor activities until we can't!
Here's a video clip of Paige riding her bike, turn the volume DOWN so you don't hear my annoying mom voice! :)

1.5 Month Old Reecie Rue

Image
A little late with this post since she's closer to 19 months but we just had her 18 month old appt. Weighing in at 28lbs and 36 inches long she continues to grow right along with her sister.
We have nicknamed her recently,Reece "Danger" Gilpatrick as she continues to catapolte herself off the couch, into pools with very little to no fear. She refuses highchairs, tries to drink out of regular cups, tries to buckle her seat belt, and ride a bike just so she can fit in with her sister.
Reece and Paige have a love/hate relationship at the moment which includes continuous hitting, slapping, pulling or screaming at eachother followed by gentle touches, kisses, "sorries" and hugs.
Reece continues to find new words and sentences most of which only mom and dad can figure out what she is saying. Some funny ones are "mink" for drink, "mump" for jump, "mooh me" for excuse me and "mup" for fill it up, her milk cup that is.
She makes us laugh daily and everytime I look at her I can't believe how big she is getting. At this age with Paige, I was 2 months away from having another! It makes me realize just how little Paige was when Reece was born!!!

We love you Reecie!!

Labor Day and First Day of School

Image

We enjoyed a nice long Labor Day weekend capped off with a Lousiville parade and a date night to Zac Brown Band. The girls loved the parade and though it seems like it should be the kids who are in to getting candy, Paige often heard shouts from her mother to include "look alive Paige" and "ooh Paige, over there, get that one Paige!" :)
Date night was great! Couldn't be a better night to see a great band outside Red Rocks!
The highlite of this week was Paige's first day of preschool! I think it was the cutest thing ever! And though we had a few tears when we dropped her off, I was not a sobbing mess. I think it helped knowing she was ready for a school enviroment and she has her friend Elli in her class.
Here we go...right? The kids go off to school, start dating, leave for college, marry and then hopefully we become a grandparents.....it's all happening too fast.
