Join us for an electrifying hackathon where innovation meets security and finance! This event brings together developers, data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and FinTech enthusiasts, to build groundbreaking solutions at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Financial Technology.
The GirlCode Hackathon is an annual 30-hour hackathon held across seven African cities, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Kampala, Nairobi, Gaborone, and Dar es Salaam. It brings together young women to collaborate, innovate, and solve real-world problems through technology.
This year's theme, “Future-Proofing Africa: Innovation at the Intersection of FinTech, Cybersecurity, and AI,” challenges participants to explore how these powerful technologies can be used to build a resilient, inclusive, and digitally secure future for the continent.
The hackathon is designed to ignite and nurture an interest in coding and technology among young women who are eager to enter the software industry. It offers a platform to develop critical technical and soft skills, while working in teams to build solutions with real-world relevance.
GirlCode Hackathon fosters a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and confidence in technical abilities. It's more than just a competition, it's a movement to bridge the gender gap in tech and to equip the next generation of women innovators with the tools to shape Africa’s digital landscape.
Whether you're building secure fintech platforms, creating AI-driven innovations, or designing cybersecurity solutions, the GirlCode Hackathon is your opportunity to help future-proof Africa, one line of code at a time.
