MySloVi Genting Sempah Run

Image
1 o'clock in the morning, me the SM(she male) Hunter and Rizal drove up to Genting Sempah to meet the guys from Touge-G and Touge-R.
Image
Actually we should meet at Shell Mrr2 earlier but as usual, Rizal was abit SLOW....& LATE!. So hoping that we wont miss the "touge" run with these guys, Rizal speed up MySloVi up to Janda Baik R&R. Luckily we manage to catch up with them at the start line of Genting Pass while they were still chatting. This thanks to Rizal motor sport instinct, a skill that only posses by the chosen one(AMPUT!).

Image
Although we just meet up, they are nice and yes they respect people. this is the lines up for the runs , a proton satria, 3 satria neo's, 1 accord SV4, 1 wira, 1 iswara, and I was abit shocked when i saw this car, a 4 doors Datsun 120Y meant for touge-ing!! and when i said foir touge-ing i really meant it. a stock a12 engine with some small modification and the best mods are the back absorber, Mr. Datsun installed 1.5 ton lorry shocks. Quit shocking for a beginner like me, never come up to my mind before.

Image
After some introduction with those guys, they asked us if we want to join then and meet at Awana upstairs, i a bit psych that night. coz' those guys a bit experienced with the road and some have been touge - ing for quit a time, but a lil bit dissapointed at first when Mr. Datsun asked the guys just to drive slow, buut....i dont know their definition of slow, Mr Rizal and MySloVi been working hard to follow them.

So, after a quite interesting runs we reach Awana. Then, 4 a.m we went back home @ downhill session. After speeding 120kph-140kph and hard braking few corners during downhill, MySloVi brakes started to fade but still, Rizal really glad with his MySloVi performance. Till the next run!!

Well I dont have the actual pic for last night run since Rizal's cheap phone react SUPERBLY lately so I borrow the pictures from TOUGE-G & TOUGE-R sites.

Here's the video of their previous showdown..see how they run! Enjoy

Mishap

Do you stop and let a car reverse out of a parking lot or do you just ignore and drive through without giving way?

Did you know that if you intentionally or unintentionally hit a reversing car out of a parking lot that you are going to be liable for damages and injuries?

I had a similar experience long long time ago when i was a wee teen...driving my Mango.. i was reversing out of a parking lot and a bike ran into me....the guy even had the nerve to demand for damages and injuries costs..

so happens I'm reversing out of a Police Station parking lot.. inches away stood the chief of traffic police..a witness to the incident..

watching him walking over to the screaming biker and me,the hapless young teen was surreal...playing out in my mind was the theme song of Jaws...the sound of impending doom!!

I was certain that my license was goin to be suspended...and my jalopy taken away from me..huhu...when lo and behold...The Police Officer began to scold the biker instead and reprimanding him for not giving way and threatening him with a traffic fine and free accommodation with food behind bars..

Imagine my surprise...after that incident..I went on to discover it is indeed an offense to hit a car exiting out of a parking lot..

fast forward a decade or two...

slowly reversing out of a parking lot...me the Wingman waving goodbyes to a group of Dixie chicks..the Topgun easing off on the throttle to brake when a screech and a thud was heard...i felt a slight jar....gasps and groans heard from patrons of a nearby restaurant..fearing the worst..my friend and I jumped out of the car...

we were rear ended by some yuppies..face white as ghost...mouths gasping like goldfishes...even some of the customers of the roadside eatery was sporting similar looks.. just seconds ago they were giving us looks of envy and admiration...

needless to say it was an extremely awkward situation... here...let me give you a clue to what was rear-ended..

Scrapyard Heaven!!!

Image

My home just got broken into, so I flew back stateside immediately upon receiving the news and I was the last to know that I have lost my PS3, my laptops, a digital-slr, my stash of cellular- phones....

Owh man..EXTREME Sadness...it took me about a month to finish my GT5 prologue games (lelah bahhhhhhhh!! ku bok jak dpt F1 ria barbiiie).......not to mention my saved Call of Duty(ies), God of War(s), the many hours of despairs and triumphs (aaaaah deym u bastard pencuri!!! jahanam ko pencuri!! 'Carmake' ko barbie ko syial!! *kau H1N1 TARMIZI!! *dahla hutan kampung pulak tuu*) ok enough with that..haha

Recently, I've posted about the Corolla KE 35 Hardtop and the owner is seriously damned to restore his newly acquired baby...

So to cure my sadness and misery...we planned to raid and search for all the spare parts ....high and low searching for what we can find for his handsome car..

Image
As we all know..classic car parts are not easily available at any auto shops..if there is any, if you're lucky...there's dead stock leftover items on their shelf...BUT the price of the part is sure to burn a hole in your pockets.......Pocket Rockets?Rocket Pockets??...goes hand in hand don't you think?

Image
So Where to find abundance of cheap parts then? hehehe...I called it Heaven Auto!!! not front clips/ half-cuts yards or warehouse ...but Scrap yards...yup...Junkyards...bring your own tools and grab whatever you like and take it off yourself!! then bring it over to the yard's proprietor to buy it off him...if you're lucky...you'll get em for FREE!!..

Image
So we started searching in the morning and finishing up in the evening...It was crazy...It was dangerous... it was fun...but damn its tiring..No doubt its Pure Satisfaction!!

Image
We even climbed and pull ourselves up two stories of junked cars just to get a set of chrome wipers and front grills...

Image
Imageno slippers please!!!

We manage to secure a pair of very good condition Hardtop rear tail lights and Chrome rear bumpers working next to a very steep hill slope!! One of us had to braced the car up to level the piles of cars sitting on top of each other!! ...sometimes stupidity takes over without even us realising...hahahaha!!

Image
muka kepuasan AHAhaHahAhA!!

Image
Image
... we salvaged a pair of "tanduk" chrome sideview mirrors of a Gloria plus some dashboard panels, period specific AM Radio and Instrument Gauges which are all still in great condition from a fallen KE 35 Hardtop...plus various and numerous kinds of classic Toyota, Subaru, Datsuns, and Mitsubishi emblems (gonna hawk them to the highest bidders!!)

Image
THE Stash..happy...smile...happy...smile...lalala~~~ thats all!!

Preparing for JUNKYARD WARS:
1) wear cargo pants with lotsa pockets so you can put tools in them...and sometimes to hide some real rare stuffs you can't afford in it...haha

2)wear a pair of good shoe, a junkyard is full of obstacles i.e mud, slopes, mud, slopes, mountain of cars, mud etc. etc.

3) pair of eagle eyes to scan through and find small stuffs and parts...and most of the great stuffs are hiding behind bushes or under a stockpiled of 6 cars!!

4)bring some aqua!! you will get very thirsty out there working in the hot sun!!!

5)some basic tools i.e spanners, pliers, screwdrivers..hammers...hammers...hammers..

6)MOTIVATION....sometimes you can't take the parts off because of the rusted bolts or screws...but there is always ways to go about things...me...I just use the trusty hammer..hehe

Retro Nippon

Image
Seeing this Japanese Muscle on the road reminds me of my late grandpa's story about the Japs invading Borneo ...on bicycles... Many decades later, they still invades Sarawak with their machines like this old skool example Corolla KE 35 til the latest monstrous machine that is THE GT-R35 (oh snap!! pics corrupted!!)

Image
This Hard Top model has gone through serious restoration work from the previous before previous owner and he really did a great job. A piece of art...

ImageOld from the outside but swapped with a younger heart from the Ae86. The happy revving 4AGE 16V...
Image15" SSR old skool wheels is the way

ImageQuite rare in Miri but you can see this model everywhere in Kuching.

ImageGreat combination of colors
ImageAny retro japs lovers out there in Miri please join the club hehe

Image
Hopefully the spirit of restoring this car will continue with its new owner as he plans to bring this car to the next level and show how an old school machine should be done. Good Luck!
