Junior Photographer

I've been really bad at posting, or even looking at the pictures on my camera for that matter.  As I was going through them this evening I noticed a lot of pictures that Brooklyn took.  I just wanted to share some of her pics with the world.

Happy News

We found out some happy news for our family on Memorial Day.

We are having a baby, due in January.

Every since we found out about baby, Brooklyn has been saying that she already has a little brother and she needs a little sister.  Well we took a new test called a cell free DNA test which will tell you the sex of the baby after your first trimester.

Here is how I told Daddy and Brooklyn  what we were having.

Nature

We have had fun experiencing a bit of nature this year.  Aunt Karen sent Brooklyn some caterpillars to watch as they become butterflies, and we have some crazy birds who think building a nest in a sprinkler under a deck in a house with a dog is a smart thing to do and a giant dragonfly.

Our caterpillars decided to grow at their own rate and in their own time.  We had one that went through the entire cycle before the others.

DSC03213Our last two slow growers were as different as could be.  The first one to make his chrysalis was the smallest caterpillar we had in the bunch, and our final one was a rather large caterpillar that turned into our largest butterfly in the end.

The day we let some of our butterflies fly free we encountered a HUGE dragon fly on the screen door at the back of our house.  Brooklyn wasn’t sure what to think of a bug as big as her head, we thought it was pretty darn cool.

Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year with funny movies, a house without Brooklyn (she spend the night at Josie’s house), and a yummy drink and fireworks (even if they were a bit after midnight since we wanted to finish our movie).
