The Waiting.............

Well, I've made it to the 38 weeks mark....or should I say Carter Matthew Gose has made it to the 38 weeks mark. We're very anxious, especially now that we know he's "safe" for arrival. I would feel comfortable with anytime towards the end of next week....so I'm open to anything after July 21st on.

When I went to the Dr. on Wednesday 7/14 he is not making any progress in the coming early department. He hasn't dropped nor have I started any dialation or anything. I go back Wednesday 7/21 and they're going to do another ultrasound to check on his size. I'm hoping he makes a debut shortly after that appointment.

I'm not sleeping well, and I know, I know, the whole God's way of preparing you for a newborn....but I'm good with waking up FOR A REASON!!!!

I'm not a big napper, but lately I've been requiring a nap at least a few days a week. I wish I was getting "banked" sleep, but really I'm just making up for the rough night before. I have gotten to where I take my naps in Carter's room. It's the coolest room in the house.

I really feel blessed to have experienced such an uneventful pregnancy. So many people deal with challenging issues while being pregnant. The only thing I've dealt with is swelling. And it's the good swelling, not the bad swelling. My blood pressure and urine checks have all been good. Swelling + high BP + proteins in urine = pre-eclampsia, which is BAD! I also thought I might have to deal with gestational diabetes...but luckily I skipped that too!

Another funny detail of this pregnancy has been Matt! He has turned into a Nervous Nellie! If I don't answer the phone by the time he calls the house phone and my cell phone....he calls my Mom! This has happened twice in the past week. I tried to explain to him that if something's going on.....he'll know it! My first slip up was when I was headed up to the Dr. I made the mistake of running into Walgreens for all of 5 minutes and the second slip up was when I took a 3 hour nap one day and didn't answer the phone. Both situations warranted a phone call to my Mom.....

Well, I think I need to go take a nap.....but I'll text him and warn him before I lay down!!

post about nothing.....

I really don't have anything to share. We're on the countdown. I have really had a fairly easy pregnancy. I am very thankful for that. Although, now it's starting to get to me. I'm not complaining.....because I would much rather have swollen feet and legs and a way too much weight gain than to not be pregnant.

As the days pass on (31 until ETA, to be exact) I'm becoming a little uncomfortable. I take that back, a lot uncomfortable. I never realized how much my range of motion would be altered. I drop things on the ground and stand there and ponder, "Really, is it that important that I pick it up?"

I am not the best housekeeper, never have, never will be.....but I am a sweeper. I don't like to feel dirt under my feet, AT ALL. But these days, I still sweep, but that dust pile is one of those things that I don't like to bend over and pick up! Matt comes home and makes fun of my "pile." But hey, at least I did something.

We've been in nesting mode, Matt just as much as me. We've made a small impact, but it seems like we find one project that just leads to another. Most everything is ready for Carter's arrival. Now it's just an ongoing battle to get everything put away. There's just a constant need for more room. Now when Matt asks, I just say, "Throw it away!"

So now that I've shared how disorganized we were before we started nesting....I guess I better get going on picking up and putting away. We're getting closer!

Something tells me not to expect ALL of the next 31 days ;-)

Man is it HOT outside!!!

Well, now that school is out, I've turned into a lazy bum! It's just so hot outside. I did go to the OB and registered at The Regency Hospital yesterday. I was gone much of the day....so that justifies staying home all day today....right?

I don't have anything to update in terms of the doctor's appointment. It was the same old blood pressure, weight, listen to the heartbeat, do you have any questions appointment. I also went and pre-registered at the hospital. Note to self, when you go to register, take your insurance card! I had about a 2 hour break in between so I decided to run to Target and Toys r Us in Lakeland. Only problem is that I also forgot to grab the gift cards that were given to us! So a lot of forgetting going on around here. I can't blame it totally on pregnancy, I do this a lot on my own. I did actually get the gift cards together before I left, Matt called me right as I was doing that, and he asked me to look something up on the computer....and that's where I left them.

Well, I hope everyone stays cool, drink lots of water!!

School's Out....

Well, the summer is officially here! I packed up my classroom yesterday and was very excited to turn in my keys. I'll have a (little over) 5 month summer! It's been a rather challenging year, to say the least. Some really great kids, but it was time to call it.....summer!

Since I've met the countdown to summer, now I can work on the countdown to Carter.....about 7 1/2 weeks to go....if he chooses to come close to his due date. So in that time I'll be getting his room together.

Happy Summer........

Carter Matthew is a chunky monkey!!

Matt, Mom, and I went to my OB appointment on Wednesday. We had a scheduled ultrasound just to check on him. I was just shy of being 31 weeks. And my little man is not so little!

Carter's ultrasound weight estimation was 4 lb and 12 oz! Hello, we still have 9 weeks to go Carter Matthew!!! Of course being the Dr. Google that I am....I discovered that at this point he should be 3 lb 5 oz. That made me feel a little bit better, but it's still a little much!

Well, just a quick check-in I'll try to post again soon....

Happy "Almost" Summer,
Christi

POP.....goes the belly!

Well, it all started out as a pooch but now it's a definite round belly. Weeks 25 to 27 have made the most significant "appearance."

I definitely enjoy the belly that sticks out....just reminds me how much closer we are to our new beginning!

I'm very excited about my first baby shower. The wonderful people I work with at SMS are throwing a baby shower for us next week. Guess we better get busy on cleaning out that spare bedroom ;-) !!!

Anyone for Cankles??????

26 Weeks

Well, things have definitely been changing with me. I've developed a belly, mildly during weeks 22-24 and then more so in weeks 24-26. So there's definitely a belly these days. Along with the belly came swelling in week s 24-26. The swelling's not so bad, but when you teach all day....there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

Carter has been flipping and flopping quite a bit! It's very funny I was talking to Caylee (my niece) this evening and she said, "How's Cahr-ter?" She says it with the cutest little accent. And I answered, "He's doing good, he's swimming in my belly?" She got all excited and asked....."All by himself?" It was hilarious! Her connections and associations are so entertaining. She's going to be one amazing BIG cousin.

I don't have anything else exciting to share.....all seems to be going well. My next appointment is 5/5....once again....holiday "Cinco de Mayo."
