Lilly wanted to say.......

Fall and harvest are my favorite time of the year! A good word to describe it is cozy. You start to drink hot chocolate, you pull out all your sweaters, you get your yard ready for winter, and you rep what you sew. I also love the fall colors.
We are so blessed to be able to live in a place where to outdoors bring us so much joy!


This might make some of you homesick put I knew you would love it! And those of you who are not familiar with this Mountain....can you spot the horse head on the mountain?

The other evening we meet up with Colby, Haven, Ella, Kellen, and Bella for a cookout. It was a beautiful night. We went for a little hike....well a stroll through the trees, the girls had fun playing in the dirt and eating junk food. Now I love cookouts as good as the next person but lets face it hot dogs, smores, pop, and chips aren't the most nutritious meal. I found it a little funny when I told Lilly she had to finish her hot dog and chips before she could have a cookie. I should have said you can't have this junk food before you that junk food!
It was an enjoyable evening and with the way the weather is going it probably was the last of the year. Hopefully fall won't be over taken by winter and we can have a couple more.

Wow!

So I just told Lilly once Jane fell asleep she (Lilly) needed to go to sleep. She walked into the spare bedroom, shut the door, got on the bed, and fell asleep! I wonder if that will ever happen again?

Pancakes!

A fond memory I have of my childhood was breakfast when we had pancakes. My mom would make our pancakes in the shape of pigs, horses, turtles, birds, etc... L loves pancakes so I thought it would be fun to carry on the tradition. Bad idea. I can't even draw a horses let alone shape one out of pancake batter.
She is a very independent child so she doesn't like it when I cut up her pancake, but if she does it she makes a mess and usually eats bits that are too big for her.
After I thought it over this is what I came up with.....

Mount Sneffels

So I usually don't blog stuff Scott does because 1. he doesn't take pictures and 2. he usually doesn't want me to post stuff about him. Well he is on top of Mount Sneffels right now and he just sent me this picture so he can't do anything about it! He met up with his brother last night and they started around 6 this morning. It is one of the many 14ers (14,000 ft peek) in Colorado. Yep! This picture was taken at 14,000 ft! Don't they look happy, or maybe it is just a lack of oxygen.

Scott's parents house

We went to Scott's parents house for a visit as well as a birthday party for Scott's grandma's 89 birthday. We also road the train (tracks) to Temple Square and enjoyed the afternoon there.

Hike
We went for a little hike to see the old dairy up on the mountain. There was a stream that ran under two cabins to keep the milk cold. the Stream as since been diverted in another direction and the cabins have fallen. There are still some remence or the cabins though. Our girls love to be outside!


Take some leisure time to read some books

One of my favorite memories growing up was hauling wood for the winter months. We are at it again with our family. Lilly loves it and is a great helper!
