For some time now, Evan has had an obsession with eggs. Not eating them, just holding, touching, rolling, cooking, etc. When we are at the grocery store and have eggs in the cart, he has to open them and look at them. I have finally convinced him that he can't hold them at the store. And, we try not to let him hold them at home unless they are hard boiled. At first, I broke that rule a couple of times and let him hold a raw egg. He's actually very careful with them. But after a couple of mishaps, the rule came into play.
Tonight, Evan pulled one of the hard boiled eggs out and was playing with it. Somehow it ended up launched across the room, cracked and rolled across the tile. I suggested he throw it away. Instead he started to peel it. And drop the shell pieces on the ground. Before he got too far, I asked him to pick the shell pieces up and put them in the garbage. He promptly told me, "I can't pick all these up." Of course not.
Obviously I didn't push too hard at that point (neither did Greg, who was sitting right next to me). Then he proceeded to sit on the landing and finish peeling it so "we" could eat the egg.

| This is serious work! |

| We've been egged!! Or at least shelled! |
After he completely shelled the egg, he took one bite, then handed it to Greg and asked him to "find the yellow part." Greg found it, then offered the egg back to Evan and was politely refused. So, Greg was the lucky winner and got to eat the egg.
Then it was time to clean up:
He loves to vacuum these days! This is his vacuum. The last couple of times I vacuumed upstairs, he went down and carried it up to help me.
