Santa is one SCARY fellow!!!

ImageErika and I took Jeremiah and Harrison to visit Santa. They were wonderful while they played trains and waited in line, but the minute they met the bearded man, Harrison LOST his mind (and I think that is why Jeremiah got nervous, too). Harrison has never had a death grip around my arm like when I tried to put him down on Santa's lap for his individual picture. I think the photos are perfect...very honest, and perfect!

Harrison- 17 Months

Image

October 14th- November 13th: I could write one word and tell you all about the past month in our lives- CARS!!!

Harry LITERALLY wakes up now, in the most pathetic voice (sometimes in the middle of the night) and says "cars". When he says this, all he wants is one of his Lightning McQueen matchbox cars. If "keen" as Harry calls him, is not available, Mater the tow truck will do. Luckily, Jeremiah has a Mater tow truck, and graciously lets Harrison carry it around for HOURS while he visits for daycare. This could be the beginning of those obsessions I have heard people talk about with their toddlers.

Food: Harry has become fond of apples, raisins and Vanilla Wafers this month...none of which are too bad for him. Other than that, not much new to report.
Oh, how could I forget Panera Mac n' Cheese! We often go to Panera with grandma Gayle when she is watching Harry (they meet me for lunch from school). I used to be able to get Harrison a variety of foods from there, but now he KNOWS that this is where Mac n' Cheese comes from. So, if I try and order/feed him anything else, he pushes it away, turns his head, and tells me in the loudest voice possible that he wants "MAC", or "CHEESE". He knows what he wants.

Lodging: Harrison spent a 4-day weekend with grandma and grandpa while Bryan and I had some kid-free time in Seattle with Heidi and Dave. He was a trooper, and only came home with a 'little' Lightning McQueen obsession.

Communication: Harry is starting to put together some two-word sentences, mostly Mama, Car or Car Please, or Cheese Please, or Mac Cheese...you know, the really important stuff! He continues to say more and more, and recognize more of the words that we use everyday, too.

Transportation: Running, Jumping, Climbing, Playing...not much new here!

Apparel: Harry is outgrowing his size 6, and 6.5 shoes. So, we are onto 7!!! I m very happy about this transition, because I made out like a bandit at garage sales this summer with size 7, and 8 shoes!!! I am hoping they all fit and he continues to like variety in his footwear!

He is getting to the "almost" tall enough for 24 month pants all the time stage! Again, I am happy about this, as that is the size I apparently bought WAY more than I needed. I am a little embarrassed to admit that there are probably 4 pairs for every day of the week. Thankfully, most of it was on clearance last year, or at garage or consignment sales...but seriously, I could dress triplets with his current wardrobe.

Entertainment: Well, you all read about the cars obsession. So, you are pretty much caught up!

ImageI threw Harry into a pile of leaves that Bryan had raked up. I was invisioning this happy child, smiling and playing. Yeah....he screamed and tried to pick each leaf off, almost disgusted that they got stuck on his clothes!

Halloween- 2011

Happy Halloween!!! Harrison was a monkey this year, as I found a $2.00 costume at a garage sale. I think it was the best $2.00 that I spent on anything for Halloween. I can imagine that next year he will be a little more excited to Trick or Treat, but we still made the rounds with him to the neighbors before he fell asleep on the couch at 7:30!

His monkey costume was like greasing his behind...he got air off the second bump and almost flew off the slide...

Looking through his 'little' bag of loot! I have a feeling I might need to buy a bigger bag in a few years.
