About the Challenge (Project/Competition Section)

πŸ’‘ Challenge Name: FYP & Degree Workflow Automation Portal

Description:
Digitize academic workflows, reduce delays, eliminate repetitive paper forms, and enable transparent tracking for students, supervisors, and administrative offices.

Problem Statement:
Manual academic processes are slow, error-prone, and lack transparency. Students and staff often face delays due to fragmented approvals and repeated submissions.

Solution:

  • Students submit FYP ideas, select supervisors, upload documentation, and track progress.

  • Supervisors review proposals, SRS, and reports (plagiarism & AI similarity).

  • Examiners, HODs, Deans, and administrative offices approve stages digitally.

  • Unified Degree Clearance replaces 4 manual forms with a single automated system.

  • Additional features: Notifications, document management, and admin dashboards.

Core Requirements / Goals:

  • Multi-role authentication & secure access.

  • Complete FYP management from idea submission to final approval.

  • Unified digital degree clearance system.

  • Clean, modular, and scalable design with responsive UI.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Functionality (40%) – Correct workflow implementation

  • Design (30%) – UI/UX clarity and usability

  • Creativity (20%) – Logical enhancements and innovation

  • Presentation (10%) – Clear explanation and demonstration

Requirements

What to Build

Hackers are expected to develop a functional project based on the chosen track:

  • Web Development: Build a responsive web app implementing your solution.

  • Problem-Solving & Workflow Automation: Build tools, scripts, or systems that solve a given workflow or logic problem.

Your project should be original, functional, and testable. Use of AI-assisted coding tools is allowed, but exact copy-paste from online sources is prohibited.

What to Submit

At the end of the hackathon, you will have 30 minutes to prepare your submissions. Each team must submit:

  1. Git Repository: Link to your live code repository (GitHub, GitLab, etc.) showing your implementation and version control.

  2. Explainer Video: A short (max 5–10 min) video explaining your project, workflow, and key features. This will help judges understand your solution quickly.

Optional: Additional supporting documents or visuals demonstrating your project workflow, design decisions, or technical architecture.

⚑ Reminder: Both the Git repo and explainer video are mandatory for your submission to be considered for judging.
