LIS Research Methods Feedback Opportunity

The Librarian Parlor (aka @LibParlor) is a space for conversing, sharing expertise, and asking questions about the process of developing, pursuing, and publishing library research. Recently LibParlor received funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to create LibParlor Online Learning: an openly accessible and interactive online curriculum for academic library workers and MLIS students who have experience with or interest in conducting research. In order to inform this work, LibParlor is conducting a study through a survey and focus groups to learn about the experiences, educational needs, and institutional constraints of MLIS students and academic library workers. We would especially like to hear about your thoughts and experiences about the research methods course in MLIS programs. The form takes approximately 15-30 minutes to complete online, and you can opt out at any time. You can access the survey via this bit.ly link: https://bit.ly/LPLT889. Responses will be open until March 25, 2022.

Once you complete the survey, you will be asked if you are interested in participating in a focus group to discuss your experiences more in depth. You will also have the opportunity to sign up to be considered for attendance at our Curriculum Planning Forum in May 2022, with all expenses covered. If you have any questions, email [email protected].

Additionally, LibParlor is always seeking MLIS students to write for us about your interests, experiences, and explorations in research. Consider submitting a proposal!
