Max turned one on Saturday. He has gotten so big, just recently. He can take a series of steps and stand by himself. He loves to ride the 4-wheeler, play with everything Hunter has, say "Da-da" "Ma-ma" "Ba-ba", "Hey", and he signs all done and eat. He loves to call for Hunter when he can't see him, and Hunter has started to translate for Max.
My parents came up for Conference weekend and we had a small party for Max. Small because Max picked that Saturday to sleep almost all day. He was getting molars and I think it just did him in. He also was sleeping in the playpen in Gary and my room - so that meant he kept waking up in the middle of the night and calling for us. It was funny at first....
While Gary and my Dad were gone to the Priesthood session, my Mom and I ran to Walmart. Well, I thought Max was just tired, but was rudely awakend when he threw up all over me. Four seperate times. It was projectile, and looked a lot like pink sugar wafers. It was the worst throw up experience I have ever had. I just stood there while he was doing it thinking, "This can't be happening...." . Thank goodness for the nice Walmart workers that cleaned that up so we could go home and get cleaned up!
Here is Gary and Max reading a new pop-up book. He loves it.
Max and his loot!
And of course, the box was also a hit.
Hunter has found this Halloween costume in his closet, and will randomly ask to wear it. It is so strange, but it cracks Max up. Hunter has never been one to dress up, so that is why it is so funny.
We dyed eggs before Easter. Hunter chose a few colors, green, yellow, and orange. I put the eggs in a whisk and it seemed to work pretty well. He liked it a lot because it was messy. Most of the eggs were yellow because, "yellow is my favorite". The other eggs were kind of brown because he got daring toward the end and started using lots of color combinations.
Hunter with his sippy cup and Max with a remote. That's everyday at our house.
Max has started to stand up on the 4-wheeler and ride it. It is pretty scary. I mean, if a child can't walk he shouldn't be so daring right? He loves it.
Here is Max's invitation that I sent to a few friends that live near us. Just to clarify, Max is the one holding the bananas.
Max's birthday donut. He wanted one with sprinkles and started eating all of those first!
That is one big present for a little guy!
Max's birthday cupcakes.
He absolutely loved the pinata and broke out in giggles each time it was hit.
Here is Oliver taking a swing.
Hunter was next.
And then Keegan.
Fruit snacks for everyone!
Next was cake time. We got an awesome video of Max right when he got his cake, but trying to take pictures and video and get the cake to the boy was kind of difficult. This was after he face dove into his cake. He went face first and then decided to pick up the top part of the cake and smash it in his face after that.
For Easter Day we went to Rupert after church. We got there just as they were finishing up chores.
This is Hunter with Grandpa in the barn. Hunter was watching the agitator in the tank stir up all of the milk.
Hunter helped feed the cows and then walked right up and put his arm around a cow's head and gave it a kiss. After that he couldn't stop sneezing, so he decided jumping around on hay bales was a little bit less sneeze-y.
After dinner we had an Easter egg hunt. Hunter had so many eggs to find that after a while he said, "I'm done. My bucket is full." It probably didn't help that each time he ran to find another one, two would fall out. It would have been a never ending hunt! He had to use his shovel to pick up most of them.
Max was pretty content after he found two eggs....one for each hand.
Can you find the egg?
Grandpa is reading to the boys in his chair.
It was such a nice day yesterday so the boys got to play with the new water table.
Here is Gary's new toy. The boys love it, and it is a good after-dinner-activity. Hunter told me yesterday that, "You should drive fast. Daddy drives fast. Grandpa drives fast. I drive fast....but you drive s-l-o-w-l-y.
