Jack: "Daddy, look I made this play-doh penguin for you."

Derek: "Thanks buddy! I'm going to take it to work and put it on my desk."

Maddie: "I sure hope they allow play-doh at your work."

I love the funny things kids say!

Our Little Family

Image
It has been a long, long time since I have updated my blog. Since then we have added a cute new member to our family. Crew Thomas Harames was born April 10, 2011. He is so much fun and adds so much to our family. He is so easy going and laid back.

Maddie finished her 2nd year of preschool and is so ready for kindergarten. She LOVES to dance! She is a wonderful mother, er I mean big sister to Jack and Crew. It's so funny to hear her say, "Jack you need to put on your sandals right now". She is going to take care of him for the rest of her life. Not sure how Jack is going to feel about that.

Jack finished his 1st year of preschool and is excited for his 2nd year with Ms. Jackie! He is a handsome little devil and keeps me on my toes. He makes sure I never know how our day is going to go. He is so smart and intense about things. He loves to do anything with his hands- legos, puzzles, and loves to "fick" or fix anything with his screwdriver and batteries. If Maddie is having a hard time zipping up her coat, he is right there to help her.

Derek is working hard for Ralph Wadsworth Construction. He is a project engineer and it amazes me how much he does. He knows so much about road and bridge construction. He works so hard for our little family, including driving to Provo and back everyday. He is so supportive of me in everything I do.

I love my little family!

Maddie's First Day of Preschool

Maddie was so excited for her first day of preschool. I was really excited for her to have fun and meet some new friends, but I was a little sad for me. I dropped her off and she wasn't sad or scared at all, it was just "see you later Mom!" Which I'm grateful for. I got a little teary-eyed, but I don't think anyone noticed. When I got back in the car Jack kept asking, "Where's Maddie Mom, Where's Maddie?" I was going to take him to the dinosaur park, but they weren't opened yet so we just drove past the one that's close to the road and he was ok with that. It's so much fun to have some one on one time with Jack. I've never had that with him and it's great. I'm so excited for Maddie and I'm so happy that she loves preschool so much.

Our crazy life....

Since I haven't updated my blog I thought I would do some quick updates.

Jack: Is my sweet BLONDE little boy. He is becoming so independent. This is really bittersweet. I love that he can do things for himself, but at the same time I don't want him to grow up. He can dress himself, put on his own shoes, climb out of his crib, and is talking up a storm. Today Maddie was washing her hands and Jack yelled, "Ok Maddie, turn off the water and get a towel." I just laughed. He is starting to climb on EVERYTHING!! If he can't reach something, he will find something to stand on to help him get it. The other night Maddie came running over and said, "Jack is being naughty." I look over and he is standing on the kitchen counter with a cupboard door open, eating candy. Oh, help me.

Maddie: Is all girl. She loves dressing up, getting her nails painted, dancing, and singing. Along with all of this fun stuff also comes the DRAMA!! Most of the time she is so sweet, and always gives kisses and hugs and will tell you she "Lubs" you. There are also some times when I think, "Who is this girl?" One time I was trying to get her to eat lunch. She got really mad at me, ran to Jack's room and slammed the door. I thought, "Whew I'm glad that's over." Then she opened the door again and yelled, "NOT EBER, NEBER!" and slammed the door again. I just sat there in shock. She is so much fun and I love having a daughter, even if there is a little more drama in our house.

Derek: Started a new job! He has an internship with Wadsworth Construction. He LOVES it!! He gets to work in an office and oversees the construction going on on I-80. He still has a lot to learn, but he is loving it and learning so much.

Me: Not to much going on with me. I'm working 16 hours a week, which isn't to bad. One of those nights I get to work with one of my best friends. It's so much fun, we get to catch up and laugh about old times. I'm just trying to keep up with life and finding time to do it all.

Demoliton Derby

We took the kids to the demolition derby on the 30th. Of course I forgot my camera. We really wanted to take Jack because he LOVES cars. I thought Jack would absolutely love it and Maddie would probably be a little nervous. It turned out to be just the opposite. Maddie LOVED it!!! She would even count down, 3 2 1..GO!!! She hasn't stopped talking about it almost 2 weeks later. She tells me, "Mom I had fun at cars crash." Jack liked it, but he was a little nervous. He was holding on to me pretty tight. He watched it with his mouth open, like he couldn't believe his eyes. He turned his head away for a minute, and Maddie kept saying "Jack you need to turn around." Derek bought the kids some cotton candy and they wouldn't eat it, finally when it was almost over Maddie tried it and said she liked it. We were like, Yeah! She likes cotton candy! Oh wait a minute, duh! It was a fun and intersting experience. It's almost like walking into a different world. I don't want to sound snobby, but there are some crazy people that go to those things. I would personally like to thank the people who sat in front of us. We saw plenty of butt cracks, nasty making out, and heard plenty of burps and dirty jokes. A perfect family night out!
