Cereal . . . .

We fed Ruby rice cereal for the first time.

She literally had no thoughts about it

No way

or another.

She didn't love it, but she didn't hate it.

Piano Recital 2016

There is absolutely nothing that compares to the anxiety of a piano recital.  Sure, other things will be nerve-racking in life - but a piano recital is it's own beast.

Olivia presented a little bio on

and then played

Olivia and Bryson played a duet

And then Addie and Sarah played a duet.

These two don't love it anymore, but Olivia has begged us not to make her quit.

Drew came home dying to start piano and had his first lesson 2 weeks later.

Lucky Number 7

In our true Drew birthday routine . . . everything was green.

Image

Wednesdays are our busiest days.
He got a new green birthday outfit (which surprisingly he was excited about).

We had to squeeze in birthday lunch at McDonald's.

And then he had to wait until 9:30 after cheer, after art class, after mutual and when everyone finally got here for cake.

Image

Which was funfetti all the way.

Image

He got Legos, darts and a new dart gun.

Image

So Ryan, Jeff, Olivia and Drew were up for an epic nerf gun war ensued (welts and all).

Ruby and Ruby

The Robbins are still some of our favorite, favorite people.  They randomly stopped by after Avery's soccer game and no time had been lost between us.

Image

We didn't think about the photo shoot until after baby Ruby had fallen asleep.

Ruby and her namesake, Ruby.

Image

It was easy to decide Ruby was the perfect name, since the only other Ruby we knew was our favorite Ruby Robbins.

Welcome to the 801

We had a beautifully PLAIN cement wall.  What to do, what to do.

Image

We did a little research and definitely over estimated our abilities.

Image

We did take a few extra minutes to make sure we weren't missing anything with this grand plan that would make us regret this moment.  And came up with nothing, so we proceeded with the plan.

Image

We made sure to get the kiddies involved of course.
You can see a part of Drew's "I love you . . . Dad."

Image

And all you had to do when you went about the imaginary boundary line is say an audible "opps" - per Drew.

Image

Dirt will be here soon.

Just think, I would have never had the opportunity to come up with my tag signature.

Image

And Drew would not have his.
He become a master a tagging . . . just ask the smiley face with gun shots.

Image

And we just kept it going . . . Kate left her mark.

School Days

Olivia had to make a 3-D statue of a main character in her book report book.
She read Harry Potter and chose Hermione.

Image

We all had our own run in with her in the middle of the night in the dark.   She lived the rest of her days shut in the cupboard.

Image

And we hit the 100th day of school.  Drew made the traditional kindergarten 100s poster . . . Yankees.
(He was trying out a face like Liv's.)

He taught himself how to write his name in cursive.

Image

Daddy Daughter Dance 2016.
It was a 20's theme and we just happened to have a flapper costume in the basement.

Image

Olivia invited Sadie to tag along since her dad was out of town.

March Happenings

Three might be a crowd . . .

Image

Addie had a late night Friday night and then Olivia had a late night Saturday night to watch the new Fuller House.  Olivia has a pretty fun gang of kids she's been hanging out with this year - there's girls AND boys (only girls are pictured though).

Image

Drew and Eden are still besties.  The kindergarten playground is in it's own fenced area.  Eden comes to say hi everyday and they make play date plans "at the fence."

Image

The Mia Maids decorated cakes for Mutual and then delivered them randomly.  I got one because I was their favorite leader.  I try . . . I felt like I won the lottery to be named "Favorite Leader."  I LOVE my calling with the Young Women.

 Image

Ruby is seriously all the rage around here.

Image

I came in from the garage to find Drew "hiding" with the bunny.

Image

And Ruby got chubby this month.

We're going to party like it's your birthday

We planned a more "grown up" party this year.   The plan was to let the girls go to dinner and hang out . . . BUT Cafe Rio was re-modeling so we sat outside . . . I stayed . . . with Ruby . . . and we ate quick since it was cold.  They came to Walmart with me to get the rest of the S'more supplies.

Image

I became a "pinterest Mom" for a minute with my S'mores bar.

Image

They started a movie . . . we were lucky to find a PG movie, they hadn't all seen it . . .  but were interested in . . . #score

Image

We made S'mores (fire pit dreams coming true).

Image

And played "What are the odds?" where Ansen came out for a go and lost immediately and became "King of the dirt hill!"

Image

And then Ashley, Avery and I played out our April Fools trick we had worked out all day.  Beehive Advisor = Co-planner of jokes.

They made "dog poop" cookies, I planted it, we got Ansen to dare Ashley to eat it, they guessed the same number and she had to . . . Then we dared Avery to eat 1/2 of it for money . . . everyone contributed until she was up to $25 and she did it.

Addie was threatening me to never be invited to parties again, she'll never have friends come over again, I am so disgusting, etc . . .

APRIL FOOLS.
