6 months

Image
Happy 6 months to Macy! Rather than just list what she's been up to lately like I've done in the past, I thought I'd share six things you may or may not know about Macy.

1. While her first name isn't after anyone specific, we chose her middle name (Lyn) because that is my mom's middle name.

2. Macy is Mike and Shannon's (Brett's parents) first grandchild and my Grandma Barb and Grandpa Vance's first great-grandchild.

3. At her 4 month appointment, her pediatrician suggested we go see a specialist because the back of Macy's head was pretty flat. The specialist however, was unconcerned and told us that it would probably round out when she started sitting up (which it has.)

4. She has tried a variety of Gerber baby foods and loves everything except green beans.

5. While she can roll over, she prefers not to. Since her first roll at about 4 months, she has only rolled over a total of about ten times.

6. Macy falls asleep best when she is swaddled and accompanied by her stuffed pink bunny.

Happy 4th of July!

Over the past few years, the 4th of July has really become one of my favorite holidays. I think it's a great time to reflect about how extremely blessed we are to live in such a wonderful country and to have all of the freedoms that we do. I love America and am continually grateful for all the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our country.

To celebrate the 4th of July this year, we went with our friends Mike and Heidi Johnson to a parade in Kaysville. Note to self: fire truck sirens, 100 degree weather and a hungry, tired 5 month old do not mix. We did have a good time hanging out with the Johnsons though and love that they live so close!

Later that evening, we met up with the Johnsons again at Franklin Covey field and watched the Salt Lake Bees. (Baseball on the 4th of July...it doesn't get much more American than that!) There were fireworks after the game, which was a great way to end the day.
