What We Did {September}

Most of our free time this month has been dedicated
to getting the house ready to sell (CRAZINESS!)
but, here are few things to remember.

Image
I took the kids to Idaho so Brett could
have a few days to paint uninterrupted.
While we were gone, he painted
two bedrooms, two bathrooms,
and the living room.
There will be no more painting done by Brett
for a very, very long time.

We got to go to the Utah vs. Utah State football game in Logan.
I felt like a bit of a traitor wearing red and black instead of Aggie blue,
but it was fun to be back in Logan.

Macy was in her first primary program.
Said her part with no problem and sang her sweet little heart out.

My kids are cute in jammies.

Sometimes the small things are just as important to document.

Gone, Baby Gone

A few months back,
Macy and Brett went on a little daddy daughter camp out with our ward.
They came back with lots of fun stories,
but no Baby.

After looking through all our camping gear,
having the neighbors hunt through their stuff,
taking a search party trip up to Grantsville,
and putting an ad on KSL in their lost and found section,
(hey, I was desperate!)
it's true.

Baby is officially gone.

Or as Macy declared last night,
"Baby has passed away."

It really is kind of tragic.

Image
Baby has been with us as long as Macy has.

Image
She's been a companion on countless road trips.

Image
Baby has been there in good times,

Image
 and bad ones too.

Image
She was pretty much part of the family.

 We'll miss ya Baby Babes.

How to Paint Like A Boss

While perusing Pintrest the other day,
Brett and I saw a blog post entitled
"How to Peel an Orange Like a Boss."

Hilarious.
But really?
A tutorial on how to awesomely peel an orange?
What is this world coming to?

However, since we've had painting on the brain,
(we have literally painted every room in our house
except our bedroom and laundry room in the last 4 months)
we thought,
who better than us to give unsolicited advice on how to paint?

So without further ado,
How to Paint Like a Boss
(or at least like the Carters.)

Step One
Image
 Collect supplies.

Step Two
Image
Dress appropriately.
Jorts (you know, jean shorts),
crappy Ts and various head coverings are
all acceptable.

Step Three
Image

Image
Bust out the paint.
(Never mind that a 5 gallon bucket is nearly
impossible to pick up and pour...
go big or go home.)

Step Five
Paint.
And paint.
And paint.

Step Six
Image

Image
Show obligatory before and afters.

Note to self:
To really boss it ou next time,
remember to take before and after pics of ALL
the rooms you paint.
More impressive that way.

If the Big Red Sign Didn't Give It Away...

It's true.
Image
We're moving.

To say I'm sad is a understatement.

Getting the house ready to sell has been crazy enough,
I can only imagine what the entire selling/moving process entails.

Let the madness begin.

Back to School

It's that time again,
and Miss Mace couldn't be more excited
to head back to school.

And yes, she's still in preschool.
However, Macy has informed us
that because it is 4 and 5 year old preschool,
it is now just called school.

Image
Fortunately,
she can't quite read yet,
so she was okay holding the preschool sign.

Macy with Miss Michelle,
"the BEST teacher EVER!"

In fact, after her first day,
Macy informed us that she
"loves Miss Michelle so much"
that she is "never going to go to another school...
not even college!"

Sweet.
If that's the case,
we might actually be able to help with tuition.
