What We Did {March}

So, March.

What did we do?

Oh yeah, move.

Sadly, it sucked up all of my time
and I have absolutely nothing to show for it.

Let's hope April yields more pictures!

Easter 2013

Yesterday, we decided to brave our first "public" Easter egg hunt.
We figured, small town=small crowd.

Boy were we wrong.

Apparently in our new hometown, small town=something for EVERYONE to go to.
There were people everywhere!

But, the kids had fun, so it was worth
a little crowd fighting.

Egg dying followed later that day.

We had the inevitable spill...

and the unavoidable HULK HANDS!
(Any tips on how to keep kids hands out of the dye?)

Sunday morning the kids woke up and checked out their Easter baskets,
then we were on our way to Shawnee's homecoming.

We snuck in a little Easter egg hunt too.

Shawnee's back!
(tell a friend)

Did you pick up the Eminem reference?
I thought I was being all hilarious
but Brett (who considers himself somewhat of a rap expert)
didn't get it at first.
Boo.

The Building of a Bunny House

After making several cookie-type houses over the past few
years with my kids, I have come to one conclusion:
there is no way for kids to complete one
without taste-testing multiple times along the way.

Image
Proof.
We hadn't even started decorating yet!

Pretty sure this is the only picture of Coleman actually
decorating the house instead of eating the supplies.

Image
Hmmm...I wonder which bunny was Coleman's?

The finished product.
Despite all the sample taking,
we still somehow had enough to decorate it.

Disclaimer:
This is not how we roll when making treats to take places.
There are several precautions taken to ensure no little
fingers make it into the cookie batter or cupcake frosting
that are headed to potlucks or neighbor's houses.

Moving: Phase Two

It's that time again!

After 6 months of searching,
looking at who knows how many houses,
and contemplating 3 different building options,
we FINALLY found a home (!)
and spent this weekend moving in.

Overall, the move itself went smooth.

We had so much help from neighbors, friends and family.
We could not have done it without them.
From bringing over boxes, to watching kids,
to lifting all the heavy stuff,
we were totally taken care of
and feel so grateful for the outpouring of love and service.

The only downsides...

Brett had a gout flare-up
that lasted 3 days.

The fridge we bought from RC Willey never showed up,
leaving us living out of coolers until we could find another one,
borrow a truck and look like idiots trying
to haul it up our front steps without tipping it off the side of the dolly.
(I'm sure the neighbors got a kick out of watching that.)

We are now officially no longer Woods Cross residents.
I knew it was coming,
but leaving was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

But...
here's to new beginnings!

(And yes, pictures will be coming soon.)
