What We Did {June}

It's June!
Summer is here and we couldn't be happier!
Despite our busy month,
there aren't many pictures to show.
Mostly because we (meaning I) have been too busy
enjoying the awesome summer weather to remember to pick up a camera.

But I did remember to pull it out on Father's Day.
Brett is such a great dad.
These kids (and their mama) sure love him!

Image
We went to the drive-in and saw Monsters University.
I don't know if it's because I grew up
going to the drive-in with my family or what,
but it's one of my favorite summer activities.

Image
Lately, Macy and I have loved checking on Coleman
during nap time because he's always doing something funny.
Like this.

And this.

A big chunk of our month went to getting this baby ready to go.
Brett and I (mostly Brett)
finished the family room area in our basement
so I can start my preschool this fall.
It was a lot of work, and we still have a few finishing touches to work on,
but we are super excited to have it done.

Incentive

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before,
but just in case I haven't,
let it be known that Coleman
HATES haircuts.

The only way we can even sort of get him to sit still(ish)
for a haircut is to give him some sort of incentive
of his choosing.

Today he chose swimming.

Fresh out of the torture chamber haircut chair.
If you look close, you can see all the hair still on his back.

MUCH happier.
(And in a swim suit instead of underwear...nice.)

Ode to Our Swingset

Brett and I joke that we bought our house
because of the swing set.
Of course there were some other factors that
went into the decision,
but the swing set was definitely a selling point.

Not only is it great for swinging,
and entertaining the kids before dinner
(and after dinner, and before bed, and after church...)

Image
it also makes a great water slide,

Image
and a catapult for major pool splashes.

Image
It's a place to think and relax,

Image
and helps adults preform awesome, kid entertaining tricks.

Not sure how we ever survived without one.
