Let's Celebrate

I've decided that first birthday parties are my favorite.
It seems that one year olds have yet to form opinions on much
(other than when they think naptime should be)
so I get to do whatever. I. want.
Bwahahaha!

Image
In all honesty I just like them because they are pretty low-key.
I try to keep all my kids' parties that way,
but it seems to become more of a struggle as they get older.
(Note to self: allowing Macy to look at Pintrest
was a big mistake.)

Image
And I have I mentioned I like taking pictures of things that are still?
Because...well, they stay still.
It's kind of nice.

Pretty sure she was loving the spotlight.

Image
This was Q's face before, during and after the whole
"Happy Birthday" singing.
Even after Macy helped her blow out the candle she was stone faced.

Image
Finally, we convinced her to dig in.

Image
But apparently, one cupcake just wasn't enough.

Happy Birthday Quincy!

Happy Birthday Baby

1 year old today!

Image
This first year of little Q's life has gone insanely slow
and ridiculously fast at the same time.

Image
We sure love this curly headed spit-fire!

Image
As if turning one wasn't enough,
Quincy also chose today to take her first,
real un-assisted steps.

Image
And, even though her party won't be for a few days,
she got to open her present from Grandma Barb and Grandpa Vance.
My grandma always seems to be on top of things,
including sending birthday presents to her great-grandchildren
that always arrive on time.

O-Town's Harvest Moon Festival

Every October we look forward to Ogden's
Harvest Moon Festival.

The community really comes together to put on
an entertaining, family friendly event.

Image
This year the kids got to make a Home Depot craft.
Macy made a chalkboard with Grandma Sherri,

Image
while Coleman made a mini football toss with Dad.

Image
They picked out and decorated pumpkins,

Image
and got the balloon animal (or Elsa in Macy's case)
of their choice.

Image
I even got my photo booth fix!

Image
My kids are awesome.  They never fail
to humor me in these situations.

Image
Quincy even made a new friend.
She saw this statue while Macy and Coleman were working
on their projects and was instantly drawn to it.
She kept patting its cheeks and talking to it.
So cute!

Image
Props to my crowd-hating husband for sticking it out for the afternoon.
I love this picture, because it wasn't posed, and you can
pretty much tell that he had had it.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub...

Image
two sisters in the tub!

Image
It's no secret that this little lady LOVES the tub,

Image
so two baths in one night was a dream come true!

Luckily, Macy was okay with the company.
