Owl at Dusk

Watercolour and gouache on Sanderson 360lb paper.

Using my precious Winsor and Newton & DeepDeeplight artists colours along side a background of ecoline watercolour inks. I definitely need more practise with the inks as they took a bit of getting used to.

Foxes

Like the grey squirrels, the urban foxes have adapted to life in the city and suburbs. We have a number that live in and around our houses and local park, foraging in the gardens and raiding the bins. The vixens calls and dog fox barks have become part of the soundscape of dusk and early morning.

Two needle felted foxes: Merino wool over a wire armature.

The standing fox is 16cm to the ears and 25cm from nose to tail (approx 6.5 inches by 10 inches).

The seated fox is 16cm high (approx 6.5 inches).

A new squirrel in the gallery

Grey squirrels – they are to be found everywhere in the UK. Here, we regularly have three who visit the feeders to see if there is anything to steal. The grey squirrel has a poor reputation and I know they have the potential to cause damage. However, watching them chasing around the garden as if they are on a glorified obstacle course is joyous. They are also incredible problem solvers and show a persistence, determination and eternal hopefulness that this time will be different.

Welcome to the Owl Nook

It is a long time since anything happened over here on the WordPress site.

I have been overhauling and deleting; adding galleries and playing around with formatting. Taking some small steps back into the online world.
