This is the first day of the rest of your life.

How do you know you exercise at home enough?

When your two year old daughter Jonna grunts and does curls with a 5lb dumbbell, and says "watch Mommy". Then after about 3, she sets it down and lays down on her stomach to do the best push-up she knows how. I complement her, and she says, "Wait". Gets up from that position, grabs the dumbbell again, does two more VERY TRYING curls, and sets it back down, and gets back down to do pushups!

Ok, ya that kind of makes me proud.

Bless Papa Joe

For those that may not have known, Jake's Grandpa Lynn Joseph Chandler passed away on November 17, 2011 at home with Grandma Chandler at his side. He has had a rough past year, but even a rougher last few weeks. But now...Now, he is able to run, play his guitar and banjo, and doesn't have to suffer any longer. The memorial service was wonderful. Looking through all of his photos when he was young helped me get to know Grandma Deena's Dad just a little better. Benjamin loved seeing the pictures of him in front of his airplanes and on his motorcyles. Grandma Deena spoke at the memorial and couldn't have done a better job to describe the things he taught her as her father.

Being there during this passing with Papa Joe, (as Ben and Jonna know him) has been tremendous. He has made me want to be a better person while being in this life on earth. He has made me want to take more moments and just breath my children in.I want to make more memories as a family. Papa Joe is a strong, beautiful man. I admire him, and hope to watch Benjamin grow up to be like him.

This experience has also made me realize just how close children are to God. It is quite amazing. Seeing Papa Joe's face light up to the sound of Ben and Jonna's voice in his last days would would bring tears to anyone's eyes.

Life is good. Thanks God.
