Baby #2 Update!

Here I am at 7.5 months pregnant- taken in mid-March. As of today, I only have 2 weeks to go as my due date is April 27th. This pregnancy has gone by so fast and has been very different than with Maddox. This baby moves much slower and really hurts when it pushes against my side- versus Maddox who kicked and kicked and KICKED all the time like he was trying to dig his way out! We are anxious to meet the newest member of our family!

Outdoors we go!

Spring means spending all the time outdoors that we can! Here, I uncovered some worms while cleaning the patio so I showed them to Maddox. They wiggled around as he touched them and giggled!

He helped us plant flowers in the front yard. He actually did help quite a bit this year but then all he wanted to do was water them- over and over and over again!

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny visited our house and brought Maddox a basket full of goodies- Lightening McQueen slippers, new Matchbox cars, a new bath toy, an Elmo garden (he's learning how to grow tomatoes!), new books and some other goodies!

Easter Lunch... all the grandparents came to our house for Easter this year! It was nice to gather and enjoy each other's company! Big thanks to Mamaw Eckerle and Gee Gah Wood for doing the dishes (our dishwasher broke!).

After the egg hunt, Maddox put all his money in his piggy bank. He got a few eggs with dollar bills and tried to throw them away as he's only used to getting coins from mommy and daddy!

Spring has Sprung!

Looks safe, right? We didn't let him climb on it for long. He says "I climbing a mountain" and tries to stand up on this... He looks very mischievious in this pic! (Which is a common look for him! ha ha)

We were at our friends house and the girls were playing dress up with Maddox!

He looks so little here...One day he won't be able to lay on the steps like this so I wanted to capture the moment while he still fits!

This is what happened when Maddox played in fireplace (while Daddy was cleaning the kitchen). Eric told me he was being so good and quiet.... Ummmm... that's a good enough reason to check on him- he's NEVER quiet!!!

Happy Valentine's Day! I made pink pancakes for Eric and Maddox for breakfast and then Maddox and I decorated cookies in the afternoon and I got to watch a chic movie!

Long time no post- oh my!

See below as we catch up starting at Christmas and going forward from there. Maddox is a crazy bundle of energy- a monkey at times, a tornado at times and a loveable 19 month old most of the time! His vocabulary is expanding daily and his sentences are getting longer and longer. He says things like "I need milk," "I like to read books," "I want chicky nuggets," "Daddy, up. Go play" "I go home," "Let's Race" and much, much more! It's hard to remember everything because he really tells us just about everything he wants.

He's very stubborn and impatient (I think he gets this from Eric! ha ha!). We're learning daily to remain patient and calm and explain that he can't scream in the house- over and over and over when we tell him NO. He is no stranger to kicking and screaming on the floor when he doesn't get his way but we are working through it as he learns to grow up! Other times, he'll come up and give us a kiss and say "Hi Daddy" or "Love you, Momma"...

Christmas started with a new Wii. Maddox really thought he was playing until he realized that his controller wasn't plugged in!

We spent NYE with our good friends- the Striegel's. We played Rock Band and Makenna loves to play dress-up so she picked out clothes for Maddox to wear too! Eric died when I took pics of him in this outfit. (I promised I wouldn't post the ones of them playing in the bath tub together!) Here's to a Happy 2010...

Snow Days

We've been taking advantage of the snow!! Maddox was midly interested the first time around and cried when he fell over. It was pretty cold that day so we went inside and then he screamed and cried by the door for 15 minutes to go back out. I made snow ice cream and had visions of this fun, family activity but he wouldn't leave his post by the door and Eric refused to eat unpurified snow... sigh!

On this attempt, he made his way to the garage and got into his car!
This time out, he really had a good time. It was a little warmer and he played with the neighbor's grandson and ran around everywhere.

Baby #2

We had a 21-week ultrasound on Dec 18th. All is healthy with the baby and he or she is growing just fine. We didn't find out the sex so we'll have another suprise come the end of April! The baby was chewing on it's hand during the scan... Maddox still doesn't understand what's going on. If I ask him about Mommy's baby, he'll lift up my shirt and poke my belly. He'll listen for the baby or kiss my belly but that's about it...
