Leftovers from June 2016

5k around Green Lake with the ward. Steph and I pushed Adele in the stroller.

Adele and Liam love each other, even though he's Jude's age.

We found a little hike/nature walk in the University District. This is our weeny version of adventuring in nature with the kids. (Note the flip-flops.)

My baby friend Sloan at church.

We enjoyed the sunshine. Adele would take walks with Teague and Matt to the gas station down the street for cold drinks, during construction breaks. (Note Teague lunching in the background.)

Below, you can see some progress on the house. We replaced the top two windows, added thick trim, chose paint colors, and finally built a fence in the front yard.

Adele likes playing with the hose and Mom's make up, and stealing my sun-bathing set up.

Matt got his tonsils out, and recovery was much easier than expected. Of a similar magnitude, Adele had her first dentist appointment.

This is from Jude's T-ball practice. Adele found a drainage grate, so here she is checking it out, just laying in the middle of the road, stopping traffic. I like to think she was looking for other Ninja Turtles. Josh usually spent Jude's practices finishing his homework.

Nothing like leftover pie in place of birthday cake.

Family Time June 2016

These are photos from family time that I don't want to lose, so I'm putting them on the eternal internet.

We've had a lot of construction debris to get rid of, so we burn it little by little in our fire pit. We made s'mores one night, just our family. That rarely happens.

Image

Adele was a little disgusted by the mess.

Image
Josh got his Wolf scouting book so he could pass off some fire safety items.

I want to remember every single one my kids' expressions. There can never be enough pictures of their different emotions.

Find me some kids who have more fun with their dad than these kids....go ahead, try.

On another beautiful day, we went down to West Seattle to explore Lincoln Park for an upcoming shoot of mine.

This is why we never get enough work done on the house -- other stuff is more fun.

Terraria Birthday Party

Josh had a "Terraria" themed birthday party with his friends. Terraria is his favorite video game. There is no big line of merchandise based on this game, so we had to get creative.

Josh and Jude made "Pin the Head on the Skeletron".

We made our own personal pizzas. Grandma Cheri was here to help.

We also made an Eye of Cthulhu pinata.

Adele was a little too short for the action.

We found a cake online that Josh wanted me to copy. This is what a scene from Terraria looks like.

Josh was not excited at all about any of this.

What better way to end a post than with a picture of a pooping rubber chicken? It was a great party.

See the family celebration on the Steed Visit post.
