We have tonsillitis!

Image
So Spicy Girl started running fever on Wednesday. She complained about her ears hurting. We had tubes put in her ears in May after almost a year of continuous ear infections, so she should not have an ear infection. Needless to say, I called the doctor and made an appointment. After looking in spicy Girl's ears and throat, Dr. Deacon said, "Good news. Her ears look great! Tubes are in place and they are healthy." Before I could feel a real sense of relief, he says, "However, she has tonsillitis." spicy Girl had not complained about her throat at all. But wow, did it look bad. Now poor Daddy Spice has it too. My poor babies.

Getting Started

I call my blog hunanspice because my daughter is from Hunan, China. The girls from that area are called "spicy girls" because of their hot tempers and spicy attitudes. And boy is it the truth. Since I will blog mostly about my Hunan Spicy Girl, I thought the name appropriate. We are beginning the paper chase for little sister (Mei Mei), so she will be part of my blog space as well. I am a thirty-something year old mommy of a 3 1/2 year old. Most of the mommies I hang out with are also adoptive moms with Chinese daughters. This is a life I never imagined I would have. What an awesome surprise and blessing it is!
