Blog? What's that?

1. My wonderful, very busy husband got me a brand new computer! My old laptop was 5 years old and it was time for an upgrade. I love it!
2. I'm obsessed with LEGO Lord of the Rings. Just found out 3 weeks ago that my brother had it and have been playing when I go over to my parents ever since. Nick and I have placed certain conditions on my getting it and I feel very motivated   :)
3. Kaleb is backwards potty training. He had no problems with #2 but has all kinds of issues with #1. Which I am perfectly fine with. I love not having to deal with #2 cloth diapers.
4. Jay is getting some molars in and is having a lot of trouble with them. He doesn't eat some days because his mouth hurts and chews on his fingers and therefore drools all over his shirt. If it was only a week I would give him pain reliever every day but its been 3 months now and I've only just felt the tooth under his gums this week.
5. Roger will be 6 months old next week and is already scooting around after anything and everything, but especially paper on the floor. He seems to wants to join his brothers with the trains already and he almost had the train on the track last night.
6. We have discovered "The Busy World of Richard Scarry"  on Netflix and it has become our family favorite. Its nice and short and cute and semi-educational and not annoying at all.
7. Kaleb's ankles have been telling me its time for longer pants. Good thing the twice yearly Kid's Market is in two weeks.
8. Still trying to get used to have a paper only 3 days a week. Wednesdays are now my favorite because that paper has the food section and 3 days of comics  :)

5 years ago was a Friday too

1. The boys love to watch Herbie. Jay likes the first one, The Love Bug, because of all the racing. Kaleb likes the second, Herbie Rides Again, which he calls The talking Herbie.
2. Roger is a very cute and chunky little piggy.
3. Nick basically lives at work now because he has so much homework. Really when the choices at home are do homework or play with the boys, what choice is there?
4. I got my Wii Fit out again and am trying to do something at least 3 times a week, more if I can because something is always better than nothing.
5. Today is the 5 year anniversary of our first date. We went hiking on Monte Sano, had lunch at Olive Garden, watched Enchanted at the theater, and went to the YSA dance. Thank heavens I managed to look past those bare feet! Love you honey!

Catch Up?

So I couldn't seem to update with everything that happened during December, January, February and March because I was baby/pregnancy brained. So here is a small update.

December: I just couldn't seem to get into the spirit for December (maybe because we had lots of days in the 60 degree range) so Christmas was entirely Nick and his mother's fault this year. Gloria sent us a little battery-powered tree that we set up in the living room and I put on last years ornaments. Nick kept talking about getting a bigger tree and all I kept thinking about was that I didn't water the one last year and the cats drank what little water I remembered, so I always had this huge mess of pine needles. So this year whenever Nick asked about getting a tree I just kind of hemmed and hawed and we never got one. Nick also wrapped all the presents and did a really great job :)

January brought a big day for me as I finally got my wisdom teeth out on the 6th. I was really afraid that I wasn't going to make my appointment because the boys got conjunctivitis on Tuesday and my appt. was on Friday. I think I washed my hands every 10 minutes, avoided touching my eyes, and washed the boys bedding everyday. It must have worked because I didn't catch it! We also had to change our plans a bit with who would be taking care of me while I recovered. Mom was going to take the boys for the weekend while Nick took care of me but instead I stayed at my parent's house for 2 days and Nick had the boys. It was really nice and a little weird to have my Mommy take care of me but it turned out better in the long run. My parent's also had a variety of foods I was able to eat that weren't at home and Nick got to have lots of fun with his boys.

Nick started school again and is super busy with that. So much so that most days he doesn't even get home until the boys have already gone to bed. Its been rough on all of us, but I know that school is very important for him so I try to be as supportive as possible. Some days I do worse than others and I'm sorry for that honey. He is finally nearing the end as his finals are next Monday and Tuesday so I don't expect to see him this week as he needs to do all the studying he can.

February and the first half of March I spent on the couch with a ginger ale in my hand as I really struggled with pregnancy sickness. There were some days I wanted to cry when it was time to feed the boys again because I couldn't be around the food. They didn't eat as healthy as usual but they survived and are on a much better diet now. I'm still recovering in the cleaning department especially where the kitchen is concerned but have almost got a handle on things.

Now we are enjoying the sunny days by being outside for most of the day. I love hanging my laundry outside so much so that I'm disappointed when it rains because I feel like I'm losing a laundry day. Speaking of its very sunny today so...

Number 3 is on the way!

So because of some circumstances beyond our control, we haven't gone public with our expected arrival till now. I am currently 18 weeks with a due date smack dab in the middle of September. So I'm pretty sure that I will have this kid in September cause I don't think I'll go that early or late.

I was a lot more sick this time around and it started earlier too. I wasn't able to eat ANY dairy for SEVEN weeks! For someone whose day doesn't feel right unless started with a bowl of cereal you can imagine how horrible that was. I was extremely happy that it did just magically go away with the onset of the second trimester and now I'm just hungry all the time. So far I also feel more healthy than I did with Jay.

For those of you dying to know, well you're just going to have to wait again this time because we don't plan on finding out the gender of any of our kids. I did tell Grandma Harvey that I would let her know if I had any intuitive feeling about a girl since she loves to make baby blankets, but she won't be telling anyone else! I do admit that it would be nice to have a girl, but if we do have a boy we are already well prepared. We do have names picked out for both too. Not sure if we are sharing them with the world yet though.

I think the only thing Jay will notice is that mommy's lap is slowly disappearing. Kaleb will point to my tummy and say "Mama's baby" but I'm sure he has no idea what is actually happening :) We will try to make sure he is as prepared as possible but there is only so much you can do with a 3 year old. I am a little worried because Kaleb is being very stubborn about potty training and I will be changing 3 kids' diapers but newborns are the easiest diapers to change so by that time that changes I hope he will be potty trained. It will be challenging to have three children 3 and under but we are very excited about expanding our family and know that this is the best path for us.

Some things for a Wednesday

1. The lawn mowing cosmic forces are against me again this year. At least while it was working I did get the front lawn mowed so we don't look like rednecks anymore.
2. Kaleb is finally talking a lot more, the problem is that I have no idea what he is saying!
3. Thinking about indexing again.
4. Absolutely dreading this summer. Highs in the upper 80's already here.
5. Nick is the bedtime routine man and so on the nights when he comes home late it is super hard to get the boys to go to sleep.
6. Can't wait until next month and Nick will be done with this semester. I just want to see my husband more often and want him to be able to spend more time with the boys. They love their daddy so much.

Small (very small) list

1. Kaleb's movie of the week is Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. He asks multiple times a day to watch "dogs, woof, woof". I have restricted to once a day because that's just the way things are.
2. Jay is a climbing freak. Every time I turn around I'm having to pull him down from something or scoop up a crying babe. So of course as a result he is sporting a lot more bumps and bruises.
3. We have spent the last three days outside with me trying to mow the lawn and I'm still not done. Hopefully the weather will cooperate on Saturday and Nick with be able to fix the riding mower.
4. We have missed story time for a long while but hopefully starting today we will go more often.
5. I really want to go to a zoo. *sigh*
6. Nick came home early today! But he still has tons of homework to do.

I will pray

Today I grieve. Today my heart is heavy and the tears just keep coming. How do I help them? How do I let them know that I would do anything to help them through this? The only answer I get is to pray. I will pray that they will be comforted. I will pray that they will know they are not alone. I will pray for their health. I will pray for anything that I can think of that might help them.

To my family Hael and Krista: I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you. I love you so very much and want you to know this. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I will always be here.
