StItching Finish

This is my 48th stitching finish of 2019.  In all honestly most of them have been smalls

It always amazes me how long these little Prairie Schooler designs take to stitch.  Although this one stitched up much faster then the others in this booklet did.  I was very leery of stitching this because I thought it was going to be really hard but it was very easy to stitch.

I am now stitching the first of Lizzie Kate's Autumn Smalls.  On New Year's Day I am going to start my 2020 Christmas ornaments.  Hopefully I can stitch one a month or maybe more.  I have no big plans for 2020.  I have a whole bunch of smalls in my to-do-pile and I think I am going to just concentrate on them this year.  Who knows I may finish more than 48 in 2020.  I already have 13 in my to be FFO'd pile.  Of course 2 of them need to be framed so they will go to Carolyn at Just Cross Stitch as soon as I get PS May back.  I would like to stitch Lizzie Kate Winter Smalls and Summer Smalls but I don't have the charts yet and I want to keep my purchases this year to mostly fabric and floss.

We had a wonderful Christmas yesterday.  We had Eggs Benedict for breakfast.  Then opened our presents and relaxed a bit before eating a light lunch and starting to cook dinner.  Our menu was
Baked Ham, Scalloped Potatoes with cheese, mixed vegetable casserole and pineapple casserole.  Shirley made the pineapple casserole.  For dessert Bob and Shirley had  apple pie with vanilla ice cream.  I had vanilla ice cream.  I had also made dessert but it was replaced by the apple pie.  After dinner and cleaning up the kitchen Shirley and us exchanged Christmas presents.  After Shirley left Bob and I sat down and watched a Harry Potter movie.

Two stitching finishes

I have finished stitching two projects this week.   .  Now I need to get some finishing done as I have about 7 or 8 things that need finishing and about 5 that I want to have framed or finished professionally.   I also have another project that I need to sew on a charm, iron and take a picture of.  Maybe later today I will do that.

Anyway here are the 2 I finished stitching this week.

FFO - Prairie Schooler - Prairie Year - December

I finally finished FFOing Prairie Year December today.  It was just sitting there waiting patiently for me to sew up the stuffing hole on the back.  I figured I better get going on finishing it as it will soon be December.

Guess What!!!

We (I) are getting a new car.  My Honda Accord is now 11 years old and I am just tired of it.  While it only has 60,000 + miles on it I wanted to get rid of it before it starts giving me problems.  I also want a car with 4-wheel drive.  On Election day, November 4th, B and I went out car shopping.  We decided to buy a Subaru Forrester.  Has all the things I wanted on a car plus some things I truly don't care about.  We pick it up this afternoon at 4:00.

What am I stitching you ask....right now I am stitching Prairie Schooler 2019 yearly Santa.  I already have my next project along with the fabric all picked out. It is Lizzie Kate Winter Wishes. I have even checked to see if I have all the floss and I do, well except for one WDW floss but I will use DMC for that color since it is only a few stitched.

Emily & Carols' Wedding

My great-niece Emily got married on Saturday October 19, 2019  In Syracuse, NY at Redbarn20.  It was a beautiful wedding and the bride was gorgeous.  She and her husband Carlos live in Barcelona, Spain.  Since her entire family live in the United States they decided to have there wedding here.  The wedding itself was outside and it was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding.  The reception was held in the RedBarn and was lots of fun.  Below are just a few of the pictures from the wedding.

Praurue Scholler - Prairie Year - January

I've had 3 stitching finishes in the last few weeks

I have enjoyed stitching each of theses but Thanksgiving is something I have fallen in love with.  I know it won't be framed for this year but you can bet it will hang somewhere in my house for Thanksgiving 2021.  I would love to have it framed by Jill Rensel but I can't justify spending that much money on something that will only hand one month a year.  I know that Carolyn from Just Cross Stitch in Limerick PA will frame it perfectly for me.

Just finished listening to Rusian Roulette

I just finished listening to Russian Roulette by Michael Isikoff and & David Corn.  A good read if you are at all interested in the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.  Very scary to think this pppened in 2016 and that it is almost sure to happen again in 2020.

Christmas Ornament FFO

This is the last of the Christmas ornaments I have to do for this year.  No guarantee I won't stitch more Christmas ornaments.  This ornament is for a great-niece who lives in Spain.  She is getting married in October to a Spaniard.  Unfortunately the wedding is here in the states and not in Spain.  I was hoping for a trip to Spain.

I can't believe that this was stitching finish number 31 for me this year.  I only finished 32 all last year.  Of course most of the ones I have stitched this year are ornament size.

My start today will be Prairie School - Prairie Year - October.  Another ornament sized project.

I have lots of finished Christmas Ornaments

I have been finishing ornaments for the last couple of weeks.  I now have them all finished except for one which I hope to finish this afternoon.

I have 2 more ornaments ready to be sewn together.  Several more cut out and waiting for me to put them together and get them to the sewing machine.

I am currently stitching on Prairie Schooler 2005 Yearly Santa.  I have a couple more charts kitted up and ready to start and one that I need fabric for and plan to start on September 1st as a Stitch-Along with some Floss-Tubers.

Other than stitching and watching Flosstube I haven't been doing much of anything.  It has been to stinking hot.  Temps have been in the mid to high 90s with very high humidity.  Ugh, the last week has been unbearable.

Today I have Chair Yoga at the Senior Center.  It always makes me feel so relaxed.

Christmas in July SAL finish

I stitched this little pillow for 2 Christmas in July SALs.  It is stitched and finished.  Although finishing it turned out to be quite a challenge.  I had it all sewed together and when I went to turn it I discovered I had it sandwiched incorrectly.  Soooooo I had to tear it all apart and reassemble it.  I am kind of glad it happened because I think it would have been to big the first time.
