Less than a month!!!

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah...

Let me summarize my activities for the past few months...

1. Master's fever - completing assignments, presentations and quizzes.
It was a very tough semester though i can't barely breath properly. (exaggerating)

2. Invigilate and mark final exam papers - I made it even though i keyed them in at the very last minutes.'

3. My dad fell down from a ladder while trying to cut down some of the branches as the branches fell down to the ladder. Luckily, only the right leg got swollen and he slept at the hospital for a night. I cried for dayss!!

4. Wedding preparation - do it slowly bit by bit and it just days away to the big day!! -gulp!!
- Cards posted and sent out by hands
- Jemput mulut pun sudah only a few more!!

5. Went to Kuantan on my off day from work to help momma pick and choose wall to wall carpet. But we slashed it out at the very last minutes. No time for that!! Xpela pakai ape yang ada aje..

6. Aunty, 2 uncles were admitted due to sickness. Makcik went for a surgery to remove her cyct in her womb. Endak admitted a week after after a sleepless night and keep on vomiting. Doctor found out that he needs to undergo a surgery as well cause that was actually appendicitis. Recently, my another uncle, cikwang is admitted to Prince Court due to bronchitis and pneumonia. He is still there. Me and my family paid him a visit after my little sister finished with her convocation. We rushed there.

5. Went to UiTM Shah Alam for Nurul's convocation day. Stayed at The Palma Hotel for a night. I would say the place is not that convenient but since we stayed there for a night so it doesn't matter that much. As long as we have a place to stay. My big sister and my brother kill the time by walking around Jalan Plumbum. We managed to get mom's and akak's tudung for the BIG day. I bought a skirt and loveeeee it so much. We entered UiTM around 5pm-ish since her graduation was during the afternoon session. We took pictures and bought adik a bouquet of fresh flowers with a petite teddybear and 4 ferrero rocher.

6. Yesterday's furniture hunting. I went to a furniture shop with my mom and we agreed to finally choose the right wardrobe for me and my future husband to fill in with our endless clothes. Owh ya, and also dressing table.

7. 2 more days until the final exam. Yes, i do have final exam. And it is only 1 paper. I guess, after I have done with the final then I can focus 500% for the wedding. I do have a lot of events prior to the wedding.
It makes me worried somehow..
1. Thurday night - 5 June 2014 - Solat Hajat, Yaasin and Tahlil.
2. Friday - Canopies will be up... dais, the bedroom and all. I think the goodies as well.
3. Saturday - 2 events a) Morning session - Khatam Quran - 5 of us and maulud by female.
b) Night session - The Akad Nikah ( the most awaited moment everr!!)
4. Sunday - Kenduri

8. Spa session?? Have done a few. A lot more to go.. Citt!!

9. Haven't decided on the candy buffet.. arrgghhh!!!

10. Haven't done the final fitting.. :(

And on monday, me with future husband will send back my little sister to UiTM Melaka. We gonna stay there. Can't wait!!! Haha.

p/s: Do I sound bridezilla?? I think my mom's worst than me. Haha.

HIV test

Dear readers...

I promise to write a lot of entries about my journey to my wedding.
Well, last 2 days, 17 March 2014 to be exact I went out to the nearest Government Clinic for the HIV test. Yes! I am up for it. I know even though I was alone and probably it will make it worse as I might just go somewhere else and go back to the office after a while.
But with guts, I went for it and tadaaaaa! I got it done in less than a minute.

But the thing is, when I first came to the registration counter and fill in forms for new patient. (ya, sometimes we need to go traditional way rather than just key in in the computer) It works when it is blackout isn't it?, my feeling was just okay.. It just a matter of taking a test Ida...

I need to go to waiting area where the outpatients wait to be called for doctor's consultation. I was waiting and I met my students there. They were very happy to see me and kept on asking me why are you here miss? Are you sick? I said i just need to see the doctor and this made their mouths shut. Haha. Sorry girls. I don't want you to find out I was there for the HIV test. Well, it is not like I am keeping a secret to everybody but I think I have too for now and for the students.

Got 166. Waiting....
163 was called.
Waiting...
164....
165...
Then the number went straight to 167.
I was like?? My number gone missing??

I went to see the nurse. The nurse went and double check.
Gahhh!! I was the one who did the mistake.
I haven't put my form in the basket so that is why my number was not being called.
I think its funny and i don't know where to put my face.. :(
Well, actually if you go here for the HIV test, you don't have to wait actually.
Yes, probably wait for 3-5 minutes only and your name is going to be called and that's it.

Lesson to be learnt:
Read and don't forget to ask around.
Lazy ass to walk and ask.

Okay gtg got usrah to attend to.

my engagement day

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah,

Dear all,

Today mark 6 days i become someone's fiancee. Alhamdulillah. May Allah SWT bless this journey till our marriage. Ameen. 13 August 2013= 6 Syawal was a remarkable for me and him. Allah has made this journey easier for both of us. It's a long story starting from the date chosen up to the engagement dress and all.
Image

Let's start with the date first. I got the call from Umi (his mom) one night and she asked, "Ida, are you okay to get engaged while you're still studying?" (OMaigadd, this is the question that I would like to hear most) but you know being me I was like "im sorry umi, I can't listen to you well" and Umi repeated and I said yes! but at first Umi and the family plan to come on 25th August but after discussing with my parents they chose 16th. Mom discussed with aunties and uncles and unfortunately on that particular day most of them have started working already. So, mom called Umi  and asked it is possible to make it earlier. So, that is why the date is 13 August 2013.

A week earlier, my fiance informed me to buy or prepare dress for the engagement day. I was blurred and clueless as there were nothing that gave sign for me to work on that. However, I dragged my friend to Kuantan and we managed to get the dress with the suitable price. So, I just have to send the dress to someone to make it nicer and think of the tudung to wear with the dress. It was quite hectic as it was already in fasting month. Feeling fatigue after coming out from each boutique. Tips to someone who has a plum size like me: don't buy chiffon material. It doesn't look good on you. Be choosy!! I bought dress that made from poli satin. So, the material fall nicely on you. :)

My friend that accompanied me to the boutique also got engaged on Syawal which on 4th. So, I have friends to buy the decorations for the hantaran together. My fiance was not in Kuantan. He is in KL. So, I have to work on my own. Therefore, my friend became my partner in picking everything for the engagement day. We went to Small Garden at Malay Town. Spent hours there as there were so many beautiful flowers to choose from. I finally took dark green and light pink rose for the hantaran decoration. I spent RM 207 for the deco. Yeah i know i bit pricey just for the engagement. (Itu tak termasuk brg pada hantaran as most of them I bought earlier when I was in Bandung in February)

I asked opinion from my close friend who already engaged on what kind of tudung I should wear on the day itself. She suggested a halfmoon shawl. So, the Internet line became my best friend as I was eagerly searching tudung to buy. At first I plan to custom made with someone in FB who is very talented in sewing and hand beading. However, as it is only for engagement and the budget is small, I just browsed via Net and found aaracloset. So, I bought the plain one. Didn't notice that they can custom made the shawl to certain designs at first but I noticed in the blog they advertised that. Fortunately, they didn't send out my tudung yet. I chose the design and told them to be posted before Raya. Alhamdulillah I am very satistied. The color really match my dress. Allah Maha Besar.

The mini pelamin (or place to to sarung cincin I would prefer to call) was done by Makde. She has a boutique but I asked her to make it as minimal as it is supposed to be. So, the dais is pink and blue. Oh, I forgot to inform you my hantaran. We plan to have 5 and 7. So, his side gave 5 which are:

1) Sireh
2) Cincin - one for risik and one for the engagement
3) Kain baju nikah
4) Kain persalinan
5) Al-Quran

For me to him:
1) Sireh
2) Baju melayu
3) Samping
4) Buah
5) Sejadah
6) Cupcakes
7) Pot pouri

I don't have the official photographer or videographer. I simple chose 2 of my cousins to be my photographer. For MUA at first I almost giving up as most of the MUA around Pekan charge quite expensive. If they are from Kuantan or bit far places, they charge on transportation. Lastly, 2 weeks before my engagement day I found a person who is talented and suit my budget. She was the one who did on one of my hantaran - cupcakes.

Image
Me at the candy buffet station - ai hail sis and cousins!

A day before my engagement day, we did rendang dendeng and rendang daging. Mom planned to have juadah raya as well even though we have nasi minyak, ayam goreng berempah, acar timun, ikan sweet sour, daging kurma, fruit- Sunkist, grapes and watermelon ;) The juadah raya are ketupat, rendang dendeng, rendang daging, kuah kacang, apam baghdad, apam beras and lopis.

Me and my little sister were working hand in hand with the candy buffet project. Since I have many small cousins so I think it is nice to have candy buffet. It is not like something with the chocolate fountain and all but it just a table with lots of chocolate on it. So, 2 days before Syawal I went to Cowboy Kuantan and bought lollipop, marshmallow, roka biscuits, jelly and twist chocolate. I assigned my cousin, Amalina and siblings to help my sister decorating the candy buffet. We just use the glass bowl available at the house.
Makndak suggested to add biskut pusat ( biscuits with colored sugar icing on top of it) .The response was overwhelming.. Alhamdulillah.

Wan (the MUA) started make up me at 10.40am and finished around 11.30am. I was shocked to see my face at first but after a while the make up slowly blend with my face and it looked nice for the engagement ceremony. Peke tied my tudung as this was the first time ever I wear halfmoon shawl! Alhamdulillah, it was nice!! (puas hati sangat2)

His side came around 11.45am. When the event has started, I just stayed in the room with Wan and chit chat with her. She told me about her experience years ago. It was very quite as everyone was at the hall listening to the pantun seloka and discussion. So, at 12.20pm Makndak called me and asked me to come out and go to the dais. This is the time. This is the moment. I was nervous at first but as I walked, the feeling just fade away. Mom putting on the risik ring and later Umi putting my engagement ring. Then, we took pictures and I salam-ed everyone who came for the event.  When everyone went down to eat, Peke called my fiance to come and take pictures. Huhu. He wore yellow baju melayu and no samping. Ish3... He didn't plan to come actually. That's why. The cousins took our pictures and later I took pictures with both hantarans. Then, I went down and joined the crowd.

I feel blessed and happy. :) Ama and her family came at 2.30pm where the guests went back already.
Do pray that this relationship ends with marriage. We plan to get married somewhere next year during the school holidays in May and June or if not probably right after Raya.

Words

"Eleven Hints for Life"

1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never
find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who
means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was
never meant to be and you just have to let go.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a
porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away
feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose
it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been
missing until it arrives.

5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an
hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it
takes a lifetime to forget someone.

6. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth,
even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you
smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day
seem bright.

7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go,
be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and
one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8. Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it
hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck
a life. A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may
heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best
of everything they just make the most of everything that comes
along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with
a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone
around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die,
you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Bandung Trip day 1

Asslamualaikum n hi everyone...

As promised, I wanna tell my bandung trip from day 1 until day 4.
We went there on 6 February 2013 flight at 6.40am LCCT.
We arrived around 9.00 o'clock and straight to the hotel. We stayed at Aston Braga.
I can say that it was really comfortable hotel. It has everything!! We booked a 3 rooms apartment and everyone of us satisfied. Mom slept with akak, makcik with makteh, me and my little sister.
Image
See! How spacious there were.
Image
 Hall.
Image
The kitchen. Well, usually on holidays we didn't cook so we just use the  fridge to keep our drinks, fruits and chocolate :)
Image

The bathroom! I loike it it just sometimes the water was too hot. I can't stand it.

We just sent the luggage to the hotel and then pak supir sent us straight to Pasar Baru. Our main purpose to be in Bandung is to shop till you drop. Huhu.
Pak Supir recomended the shops. First we went to buy telekung. I bought 7 telekung. Some for my friends. Makteh bought more than 40 telekung. Yup, with purpose but not with the intention of selling them. Adik bought 5 i think. Akak, mom, makcik ... countless!! First shop we already spend millions. haha

Next stop would be fabric shop
Image
We loveeeeee here!!! Mata dah juling-juling n rambang mata aje... Hati asyik berderbar sebab tak sabar nak beli. HUHU. Lots of laces, crepe silk, chiffon, satin, cotton and you-name-the-material. With cheap and very affordable price we felt like to grab everything. I was like pick and choose after one another non-stop.
Seriously message for girls, if you want to get married and you want to custom made your attire get the materials here!! Super cheap.....

Image

We spent hours here. I guess the orang kedai were tired of us. We kept on changing the materials and colors to choose. Funny okayhh! We shop like there's no tomorrow. Haha. I love thai silk. It is chep!! 1m=RM5. and because for a baju kurung we only need 3.5m so we can get below RM20. ;) :) *wide smile*
I went to Jakel and i compare. Jakel's RM14.50 for a meter of thai silk. See, how much you can save there.

Image
We were busy deciding which color is suitable for khatam ceremony.
The sales assistants were nice. They were helpful. They served us food and drink as they know that we were tired. It is also to appreciate the customers coming to their shop. they have good sofas for us to sit and relax. I would say that there were a lot of Malaysians. Even at the airport while picked up the luggage and at immigration I saw lots of Malaysians. All came to shop. I know!!

Image
Isn't it nice??? I bought one of these!! Jeng jeng jeng. Can't disclose now. hehe

After spend hours here, we went to the food court to lunch. Then we went to the hotel to bathe and solat. Again, we went out and this time we went to terminal tas and had dinner at The Stone Cafe.
Image

Image
See!! Shoes, sandals, loafers, snickers and whatnot are available here. Mom bought a pair of shoes. Nice!

Image
Mom looks tired here. Don't look at me. I know I am fat!

Makcik, mom and makteh took picture with the live band. Adik even requested Dadali's song. She sang along with the singer. Huhu.Great experience thou! Yeah, we had fun.

We went to hotel and ready to hit the sack.

The next entry will be the day 2 and 3....
