My boys

Carson and Matthew are growing up too quickly! I have so much fun with them every day! Who said that being a parent of two little boys could be so much fun?

 Matthew is a "true boy"

Carson always is such a big help! He wanted to make sure Matthew had enough Cheerios to eat.

President's Day 2012

This was the first President's Day in a long while that Nate didn't have to study for school and did not have to work. We went to the Cherry Creek mall. The boys played on the play place and had such a fun time.

After we came home from the mall, it was nap time. Carson moved his mattress off of his bed and re-made his bed for his puppy, Jackson, and himself.
We were first planning on going bowling for President's Day, but the price was atrocious! We decided to create our own bowling alley at home. This was Carson's first time "bowling" and he loved it! We even had treats (popcorn and gummy bears). We had a great time.

Carson

Carson is such a fun 3 year old! In church, Tom benzon (a guy in our ward) was speaking. He had talked with some of the primary kids. He asked them when they feel the Spirit. Some said at the temple, in their homes, at church, etc. He then tells that Blake Hess (a boy in Carson's sunbeam class) said that he could feel the Spirit at McDonald's and Chick-fil-A. Nate thought, "who's kid would say that?" Later, Tom came up to us and asked Carson's name. He then told us that Carson said Chick-fil-A too! Haha we sure did get a laugh.
Especially because we have only gone out to Chick-fil-A a handful of times. I guess Carson sure does love that place.
So, this morning, I came downstairs after putting Matthew down for a nap. Carson tells me that one of his trains, Douglas, was in time-out. I asked him why and he said that Douglas couldn't be nice to Thomas.
I sure do love my kids!
Matthew is a keeper too! The other night he had been awake for over 2 hours (yes, in the middle of the night). Then, when he woke up early the next morning, he was all smiles:)
I sure have been blessed with some wonderful boys!

TODAY

Matthew is developing so quickly. He now crawls all over the place! He pulls himself up. He is starting to walk while holding onto things. He climbs up the stairs, but we are still working on going down. In our home we have one full staircase going upstairs to the bedrooms and then three stairs that go from the kitchen on the main floor to the family room.
Carson is such a tease! He will go to the top of the stair from the family room to the kitchen and call to Matthew to come to him. OR, he will start going upstairs to the 2nd floor and tell Matt to follow him. Matthew usually follows. Matthew will also look back at me making sure that I see him. If I go towards him, he speeds up and laughs. It is a fun game to play!

As I was playing the piano, Matthew came right up to it and started to play too.

Carson speaks in full sentences now. He asks questions about people. If I talk to someone, he'll ask, "Who's that?" He then sometimes asks how many kids they have, how old are the kids, etc. At breakfast he has asked who made the milk at the store. One time he asked about Matthew's baby cereal, "Who made Matt's cereal?" I then told him, "Gerber."
"What's their last name?"
I say, "Gerber company."
He then asks me, "How many kids do they have?"
It's so much fun having conversations with my little 3 year old, Carson! He loves to count to 10, he has recently added 11-15 to his counting at times. He is full of energy! Carson is such a sweet little boy. If I ever hurt myself, he asks if I'm okay. He says please, thank you, excuse me when I'm in his way.
Carson is a cautious boy, and Matthew seems to be very daring. If Matt is standing up holding on something and wants to get down but can't, he will fall and roll on his back and get to whatever it is that he wants.
I have so much fun with my boys every day! Nathan and I have been so blessed to have such sweet boys in our family! I'm so very glad they came to our home!

Nate was on break from the middle of December, 2011, to just this past Tuesday, January 17, 2012. We all had so much fun having him home. It has been so much fun watching Nathan play with Carson and Matthew. They love their dad so much.

CATCH UP...

Christmas 2011
We had such a wonderful Christmas! It was so much fun to see Carson get excited about receiving and giving (not so much) gifts and to watch Matthew love to rip the paper. For Christmas, I tried to have some of the presents be homemade rather than just store-bought. I made pajama pants for Carson, Nathan, and me for Christmas. I also made some gumball necklaces for my nieces. We made some calendars for both of our parents. We had a wonderful Christmas!

Carson loved the bobcat that he got from Santa! Side note, Carson had been talking about Santa bringing him a bobcat construction truck for the past 2 months. Lucky for him, he got what he wanted. He also got a "Percy" train from Santa. He loved them both! Carson is holding some little cars that Matthew got.

Christmas Eve! Both Carson and Matthew love to play with each other. It is so much fun to watch them interact with each other.

November 29, 2011, we attempted some pictures with the boys. Carson and Matthew are growing up so quickly! It makes me excited and glad to see the new discoveries that they have every day.

In November, Nate, Carson, Matthew, and I drove to Utah over Thanksgiving break. We left Monday, right after Nate's test and drove to Mapleton, UT. Brittney, Nate's sister was getting married that Wednesday, November, 23rd in the Mt Timpanogos Temple. It was a beautiful wedding and reception. Image

Brittney and Brian made such a beautiful bride and groom!

Hayley (my sister), me and Mckenzie (my sister)
both came to the temple too

We then stayed until Sunday, splitting the time with my family and Nate's family (there are both pros and cons to having both of our families living only 5 minutes from each other:) ). We had a wonderful time. Nate then had a few weeks left of the semester while I got our family ready for Christmas. Nate finished with finals in the middle of December. We were all so happy to have him done with school for a little. While we were in Utah, Carson enjoyed helping decorate the Christmas tree.

We loved spending time with our families!
In October, we decided it was time to do some more family pictures! We just went to a public golf course nearby.

FALL has finally arrived...

ImageFall has finally arrived! Our maple tree in the back is changing colors! It is so beautiful! I love when it gets so cold the leaves are crunchy when you walk on them. Image
Nate and Carson were reading a Curious George book.

October 5, 2011
So, yesterday Carson and I were outside mowing the lawn. Just as I finished, he came up to me with a concerned look on his face. I thought he had hurt himself. He pointed down to his toes and said, "My toes are changing colors!" in his little 3 year old voice. I held back my laughter and said, "Oh, that's ok, look at my thumb." My thumb and his toes were green from the freshly cut grass. I sure do my 3 year old!
