Eldritch Friday: Starry Spectres in Umbra
Suddenly a terrible sight appeared in the sky – an ominous figure gathering the drearisome clouds, weaving them into nightmares and fearsome wraiths. A new mournful rash has appeared, a shadowy fog, but it is visible everywhere the fatigued eyes dare to gaze. Every nook and cranny of the tree is like a stark temple. Phantoms on stems a few inches from the ground – reach to catch the unknowing. I hide a box in my house, and put her to sleep – her veins will die, because they silently lick the night; I know the 3 lost songs can’t make the slow legs shine. The Asagszai ancestors glow in the darkness, luminescent crows, starry spectres in umbra.

Absurdist Tuesday: Kamikaze doe bani gap Ottawa no key
‘Kamikaze doe bani gap Ottawa no key‘ – Some absurdist Dadaist synchronicity walked through the door recently. Somehow, while playing with some random text, I managed to copy the Japanese version of the passage in the Roman Alphabet. Welcoming this glitch gift, I used the spell check on Open Office to offer suggestions for the “mystery words/errors”. The result is a Dadaist Prose Poem, that is most fitting for this Absurdist Tuesday. (Consider the word-salad coming out of the mouth of the 34 convictions-American-presidential- felon-candidate & former president).
The second glitch gift came while on the walk with the dogs. Near the end of the walk, the geese and their goslings were near the shore for me to get some reasonable photos with my phone (we are so deep in the digital age that the expression, ‘get photos with my phone’ no longer sounds absurd-ridiculous). The glitch gremlin decided it was time to play with the phone – it kept going into rapid shot, taking multiple pictures (I ended up with 270 photos – some of them are quite nice).
Last bit before we proceed with the illustrated prose poem, I put the opening, Kamikaze doe bani gap Ottawa no key, through multiple translations, and then back into English – it became, ‘The house where the suicide bomber was executed‘.
May the Absurd be with you.

The Clark Ashton Derlilyth House
Miskatonic University’s Historical Society has announced that The Clark Ashton Derlilyth House restoration has been restarted. The most recent construction supervisor, Azorthoth E. Waite, has materialized outside the structure, now that the portal has been appropriately stabilized.
As has been reported, the five previous construction supervisors were unable to either close or stabilize, what is called The Derlilyth Portal. With the return of Supervisor Waite, a memorial for his five predecessors will be scheduled promptly.
Clark Ashton Derlilyth was a renowned folklorist and metapsycholoist, as well as a noted poet and translator. His books, especially, The High House of Carcosa, and At The Mountains on The Borderlands, are celebrated as remarkable prose poetry, that provide insightful exploration of metapsychology, and mythopoeic manifestations.
At The Mountains on The Borderlands, is believed to be crucial in effectively stabilizing The Derlilyth Portal. The poet supposedly created the portal during the time he was working on the volume. In any case, the stabilization and ongoing work on the house has created a greater demand for all of Clark Ashton Derlilyth’s works. The publisher, Enigma Pilgrimage, say they have kept up with the demand.
The photographs seen here demonstrate the effects of the portal on the exterior of the house, and the nearby area. This problem has now been eliminated, however, extra caution is still needed when working on the interior’s reconstruction.
