What if Wednesday: signs of a disunion
Some time ago I did a post on Soft Secession. A recent segment on the Rachel Maddow show, Maddow referenced a comment made by historian Timothy Snyder at a live event (it will be played on MS NOW this Friday 13 at 9pmET on MS NOW). Professor Snyder was less concerned about a nationwide, fully authoritarian Trump regime, than the possibility that the whole union breaks up. She then goes on with an interview with Former CDC chief Dr. Richard Besser, which demonstrates how individual states are developing alternative structures to replace the decimating Federal services and structures. Alternative State services for crucial healthcare are the first step to soft secession. Note that the recent haphazard support for SNAP during the government shutdown resulted in some states filling in the gaps the best they could. All of this is just another sign of the American Empire coming to an end (See my post: Asemic Map of Collapsed Empires).
