  • Tomotaka Kojima (Ig Nobel Prize in Physiology, 2025): Research into the use of zebra-pattern painting to protect cattle from blood-sucking insects
  • Yoshiaki Miyashita (Ig Nobel Prize in Nutrition, 2023): Experiment to change the taste of food using electrified chopsticks and straws)
  • Kazunori Yoshizawa (Ig Nobel Prize in Biology, 2017): The discovery of an insect with reversed genitalia in males and females

and

  • Takaaki Kajita (Nobel Prize in Physics, 2015): The discovery of neutrino oscillations, which indicate the existence of neutrino mass

Arisia, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA — Improbable Dramatic Readings (read aloud by probably dramatic readers) of very brief extracts from improbably exciting genuine published research studies, some of which have been honored with Ig Nobel Prizes. AAAS Annual Meeting, Phoenix, Arizona, USA, Hyatt Regency Phoenix Hotel, in the Regency Ballroom — Improbable Research Show, with Marc Abrahams (founder of the Ig Nobel Prizes) and:

  • Julie Mennella (2025 Ig Nobel Pediatrics Prize winner, for studying what a nursing baby experiences when the baby’s mother eats garlic)
  • Paul Bosland (1999 Ig Nobel Biology Prize winner, for breeding a spiceless jalapeno chile pepper)
  • Improbable Dramatic Readings (read aloud by probably dramatic readers) of very brief extracts from surprising research studies
  • Bananas
