I received an email this morning from the US embassy in New Delhi letting us know that we have been granted article 5 approval. This means Karuna can be adopted by us. We are excited to be one step closer to getting him home, our next step is waiting for his NOC(No Objection Certificate). This step could take 2-4 months and we are aware of the changes in India with CARA who is the agency that issues the NOC.
SO far our documents have moved very quickly and I'm praying that things will continue to move in a forward direction. I wish I had a magic wand that would make the time go quicker. At this point when I'm asked when Karuna will be home I just say hopefully between March and May of next year.
Please keep us and all the other families waiting on their children to come home in your prayers.
This blog has been created for our family and friends as we go through our journey to adopt our little boy Karuna from India. Hope you enjoy!!

Provisional Approval
A very important letter came in the mail today that we have been patiently waiting for. WE GOT OUR PROVISIONAL APPROVAL!!!! This means that Maurice and I have been approved as suitable parents. Now the approval goes to India with the DS230 so that they can establish that Karuna can be adopted. THEN we will be on the way to getting his No Objection Certificate. Crossed one more thing off the list. YEAH!!
