Valentine's Day gifts!

Eli came up with his Valentine's gift for his teacher on his own. The little Valentine bucket and heart shaped decorations were his inspirations. He did a great job. I love the glitter glue in the bottle on the left. It was perfect. And we had to cute a 2 1/2 inch styrofoam ball in half to fit into the bottom of the bucket. Eli wanted to put some candy in the bucket when the craft was done for a little sweet treat!
Image
Image Eli painted the ball in the bucket so that it would look pretty when the candy was gone. And below is the final project( with the hersery kisses that Eli picked out to put in the bucket) that is AWESOME! What a crafty kid!

Image
Lucas really like the heart shaped wreaths and ornaments. So we decided to make our own. They didn't have any small heart shaped wreaths. So, I cut the middle of a styrofoam heart and tada . . .

Image
And this is what the heart looked like after Lucas painted it with the glitter glue. Great, huh?!?!
Image
Then we wrapped ( well I wrapped) some garland around the heart. I formed hooks out of the wire in the back so it is an ornament and wreath!

Image
Lucas is really pleased with the final present!

Image
I found a cool idea on the Domestic Fashionista's blog. Now hers was made with roses. But I loved these hydrangea and they had other colors that were too beautiful to pass up. Truthfully this ball isn't finished ( I ran out of flowers) but enough is covered that I thought you couldn't really tell. I had a sick kiddo home this week and will hopefully be able to get more flowers to finish my V-day gifts soon.

Image
Noah was the sick kiddo, so stay tuned for his Vday gift.
I changed my background on both my blogs in honor on my birthday that is coming up. Sorry if you don't like purple, but it is my fav color!

100th day of school project

Image Image
Image Lucas is approaching his 100th day of school. For his project, he wanted to do 100 stickers. The are all animal stickers. We quickly realized that he could not fit them all on 1 paper. And had to glue a 2nd page. The boys are working on their Valentine's Day present for the teachers, so stay tuned. The each came up with their own idea, so be prepared to be impressed!

Thank you . . . Thank you!

Image
My sis-in-law gave me an award. Now, I don't think that there are any rules other than to spread the bloggy love! So, through my blog surfing, I have found some new blogs that I would like to share with you. I have to watch where I surf, because I have found some websites that I like and then can't remember how I got to them in the first place. So here are my 5 new blogs:
The top four have great tips for your house. The last makes me laugh, and that is always a good thing.

Hanging out!

The siblings came over to hangout and eat. There is ALWAYS eating of course. I think my brother Fred ate his weight in fruit roll ups. It was my fault for showing him the dessert tub. At least I buy my fruit roll ups at Costco, so I still have some left. It was great having everyone here for the day. Trevor didn't want to leave, *Yeah he likes me, he really likes me* . . . Truthfully he likes Noah and the toys, but I will take what I can get. I didn't take some of the pics. I should remember that a camera or cellphone left unattended in the presence of my brothers is a DANGEROUS thing. Sorry for the text Mom. Fred owes you the money from that one. Next time I will hide all devices before company arrives. I guess I should be thankful that Andrew didn't change the language on my cell AGAIN!

Come and Sing Together

Noah and Eli had a music program tonight. It is hard to see them but Noah is on the left side of the bleachers. He is on the 3rd row up and in a blue plaid shirt. Eli is at the xylophone on the right. He is the farthest left in the 2nd row. You really can't see him. Both boys want me to post a video on their blogs. So, for those of you who have their address's go check them out.

Those funny boys . . .

Okay this post needs a little background info. Last week was my sis-in-laws bday. Noah was asking me how old she was blah, blah, blah. Until he said "Aunt Julie looks WAY younger than you." . . . . I know! Now Julie is very beautiful and is not even a year old than me. But to make matters worse, Noah says "Aunt Julie looks like she is in her twenties." . . . . Seriously. I mean are you kidding me. I don't think I look like I am 45. Anyway, back to my story.
The reality is that the boys think that whoever is the tallest is the oldest.(unfortunately that is not what Noah was saying). *sniff*sniff* I know you feel my pain. . . . Sidetracked again. I try to explain to the boys that that is not the case and that brings us to today.

We are in the car after Lucas's karate practice and are talking about the whole tallest/oldest thing.

Me: "Uncle Andrew is taller than Papa but Papa is older."

Eli: "That's because Papa is old, old people are short."

*Yes he went there. What kind of manners did I teach my kids?!?! back to the story. . .

Lucas " OOOOHHHH! That was mean. That puts you in the meanie club!"

Well he does have a point.

The happy point is that I also dragged my other sis-in-law Jen into the conversation.(the baby of the big people- but a very TALL baby). To which Noah replied " Yeah I just don't see it. She seems WAY older." Sorry Jen. But really- even WAY older you would be like what 29.

Losing Focus!

Okay, I am getting overwhelmed. Anyone wanting to come and pitch in is WELCOME. Anyone . . . . . no takers. I see how you are. I am moving stuff from around in closets trying to see if I can make more room and make it more organized. I.E. I buy alot of things from Costco ie paper towels, toilet paper. And my house does not have Costco buying storage if you get what I mean. I put the extra paper towels in the attic, but I also store gifts in the attic. So, you can't send kids to the attic particularly if gifts are in there. So, I moved some to my upstairs closet along with some in the linen closet upstairs. Better to store them, but when I was putting them in the linen closet I got side tracked. I started to organized that closet. And so long story short, I am half way doing the job. UUUGGGHHH! So, now I have to refocus or I will never get the job done. And the job is starting to be overwhelming ( well truthfully the job was ALWAYS overwhelm which is why I procrastinated starting before). Thankfully my mother promised to help. Thank you Mom in advance. And don't feel sorry for her, because she is at my house ALL the time and knows exactly what she volunteered for, in fact she will be THRILLED, when the job is done. Love you Mom. Gotta go, the closet are gaining up on me!

Join in . . .

The Thrifty Decor Chic is having a organizing/declutter party. And I am joining in. I have to get the house ready to sell anyway, so I thought it would be fun to join.

I usually start in one area and since I couldn't use my dining room table. It was the best place to start. Sometimes it is hard to stay focused( ie when I put something away like a toy, I realize how messy the playroom is and then begin cleaning that instead of finishing the room I had started in.) and I end up getting frustrated because it feels like the job is never ending. Since my house is small, I don't really have any place to put things as I am going through them. So reorganizing can be frustrating until I have time to take stuff to the goodwill or trash is picked up. So, usually I try to do any major stuff the day before trash day to limit any extra headache. Here are some before and after (sorry mom, I know it will embarrass you).

Image
Image Alot of times the boys forget to throw away empty boxes, so my pantry gets crowded with half full boxes. The last pick is the snack box, so you can see what I mean.
So, here are the after pics.

And here is the trash that will go out tomorrow! I will take the boxes to the school to recycle. But this is a good start.

Get started today!

Too funny!

Okay, my BFF Brooke and I found this website and it is too funny. It is horrible real estate listing. And it makes me feel better about putting my house on the market in the spring.

No verdict yet!

Well, the doctor's office called to say the results are NOT in. Since they sent them after closing of Wednesday, they might not even get the final results till sometime 2morro. But after 24hr, there was no growth of strep. Which is good. Lucas is definitely feeling better. Which is VERY good! He did run a temp today but only 101. He wanted to eat also. And he was sad that he still couldn't go to school. So, right now it looks like it was just a nasty virus disguising itself as STREP! Either way the little guy is acting more like himself and that is all I care about!

To be Strep or not to be strep? That is the question . . .

So, we don't know if Lucas has strep throat. The rapid test is 97% accurate and Dr B thinks that Lucas might be the 3% false negative. Yeah US! Lucas is in pretty good spirits considering he has a temp of 103.3 most of the time. 4hrs after motrin this afternoon at the MD's office- he was 103. Motrin is really doing his JOB. We have to wait until Friday for the old school test (which hopefully is more accurate than 97%). And they are not sure what time they will have the results which is so nice on a friday of a holiday weekend. I really don't want him to be sick ALL weekend. He has already missed 2 days of school. And I am not totally comfortable sending a possible +strep throat kid to school. Wouldn't the parents love me! But if he stops spiking temps, then I will know it is just a virus. So, everybody pray that Lucas gets better and just has the nasty virus that is going around pretending to be strep and not actual strep and going to be miserable for the next 2 days!

Wii Fit!

Image
Image

Image The boys and I went over to Andrew/Jen's house this weekend to play with the cousins. But really to play on the wii fit. The boys were surprised how hard it was. They were always laughing and saying it was easy when they were watching me do it at my mom's. Unfortunately my kids have my GREAT balance. *wink*wink*. Their wii fit ages ranged from 11 (Eli's 1st attempt) to 26. Eli gained some years when he attempted a 2nd fit test and gained 4.5lbs in 1.5 hrs. Which answers Jeanie's ? (how accurate is the wii weight on carpet- not very!) They all had fun. And Noah is hoping that if they show Nana they can be responsible on Andrew/Jen's wii fit board, so she will let them play wii fit at her house. Nana said it was a possiblity so cross your fingers.

Kids say the darndest things . . .

Yesterday in the car, Lucas and Eli were cracking me up. The boys were all racing to open the doors for me. ( I had been giving them a hard time about being gentlemen.) And they were doing a great job of showing me how it is done. Anyway, Eli opened my car door for me, and as I was getting buckled.

Lucas says "Hey tootse!"

To which we all laughed. Which only egged Lucas on.

Lucas says "Looking good tootse!"

I am rolling at this point, but then Eli says "Your freaking me out."

It was too funny.
