Dresses, dresses, dresses...

More dresses! I have neglected taking pictures lately! But here are a few that I did take.
This dress was made from sequined lace. It was the most beautiful fabric I have ever worked with! My daughter Leslie, wore this the night we went to see "Wicked" at the Smith Center.

These next two dresses were for sister's of the bride.

(Please over look the shoes in the corner)

This is a picture of the original dress for the Homecoming dance. The girl wanted a less formal and younger looking. I cut it off short and added stretch jersey to make the sleeves over the shoulder as you can see in the second picture.

Quilts

I was introduced to quilting by my daughter, Melissa. I wasn't sure it was something I wanted to do, but once bit I was hooked. Here are a few of the quilts I have made:

In case you can't tell...I love pinwheels. My daughter
made this pattern and I loved it, so I had to copy it.

I love the look of these zig zag quilts
I made this one and donated it for an auction.

This one was also a gift. It was
hard to give away because it was so me
and would have fit in my house perfectly!

I learned something new on this quilt.
I learned how to use my embroidery
machine to do the quilt designs.
Image

This was my first quilt. I love the colors and design,
but I learned a hard lesson. Make sure if you hire someone to quilt it for you,
that you see their work first. She did a very sloppy job on it!

This one was for our grandson.
The ducks are hand appliqued onto the quilt top and
the first quilt that I did machine quilting on.

I forgot to take pictures of this one after I quilted it. This is the first one I have made without a pattern. I just played with the triangles till I figured it out.

This baby girl quilt is for our yet to be born granddaughter. The lighting is bad in this picture, the flowers on the lower half are pink fleece, it has a white boarder and pink binding.

Wedding Gowns

Wedding Gowns are my favorite to make. I can work from pictures and I can take part of one dress and combine it with another to make you a one of a kind gown. I also specialize in making dresses that are LDS Temple ready. Here are a few examples.

This dress is made from all over lace that I hand sewed sequins to the entire dress, an empire waist with shearing and a sweet heart neckline.
Image

I made this one from an hand drawn design.

Image
A close up of the dress. It had a hand pleated bodice with a sweetheart neckline trimmed with sequins, an empire waist with chiffon over satin skirt.

This is one that I altered. The dress came with a lace overcoat that the bride did not care for, so I used it to make small straps over the shoulders and a lace train attached to the back of the skirt.

The bride on the wedding day!

These next two pictures are of the same dress, you will see pins in the dress as I was not quite finished with it yet when I took the pictures. This had a dropped waist, with shearing on the bodice and an applique down the front, a sash at the waist falls into a full skirt.ImageImage

My daughter Lauren is shown next. Her dress was made to look like a two piece dress. It had 3/4 sleeves with lace bell detail and square neckline, corset bodice back with a bustle train.

ImageImageImageThis gown featured a sweetheart neckline with a cap sleeve. It has beaded lace appliques covering the bodice and back. Image

This dress has all over lace, scoop neckline, with pleated sash and long ties in the back.
