Hello my friends! Happy December to you. It’s hard to believe the year is almost over, and we are now in the Christmas Advent season. I hope you have had a good one. My daughter has 2 Christmases (including this year’s) left before she heads to college. I am trying to seize EVERY moment I can enjoying the season with, in spite of her busy schedule!
Today I am EXCITED to announce the next sampler BLOOMING SCRAPPY QAL with my latest book Scrap Quilting with Wendy Sheppard! My very sweet friend Pat Sloan will be sewing along. You may have heard back in October Kimberly Jolly of Fat Quarter will be as well. She will be offering a different version of the sampler project. So be sure to watch her video in Jan 2026.
You will have the option to add the pieced outer border should you choose to!
WHEN: Jan 21, 2026
HOW THIS WORKS: We will be making the blocks from the different projects in my book to make a sampler quilt.
MATERIALS: My Scrap Quilting Book + Scraps – use scraps or 4y background + 1 FQ bundle!
There are lots of stars, and these star blocks can be a bit of a challenge in getting all the points to match up. I have written about accurate piecing here a long time ago, but this my go-to trick.
Here is the schedule – please note that schedule is suggested because…. life happens! However, if you somewhat keep with the pace of the schedule, you WILL get your quilt top completed!
Thank you for sewing along this quilt with me! I hope you will have lovely rest of your Thanksgiving week. See you again for Check-in #3!
Assignment: Make the top bell section and study through pattern so that things make sense to you.

ALSO – please note that on page 7 step 1, there is a mis-labeling of the diagram. The text as well as the cutting are correct.
And here is my first section done!
See you next month for our next assignment! Have a great day, my friends!
Hello Friends, I hope you have been well, and that you have had a good start to your week.
Before I get on with today’s agenda, if you haven’t followed me on Instagram or Facebook, here are the links. I find that I can connect with quilting friends better there. Plus you will be able to interact with other quilts to make friends of your own.
Well, I finished my Sparklers quilt top last week. You can still make the Sparklers quilt at your own pace. Click HERE for pattern.
A finish means an impending new start — here is the schedule for Hear Ye, Hear Ye QAL. This QAL will run from October 2025 through May 2026. The schedule is pretty light and low demand. However, as with all my QALs, the schedule is ONLY suggested. You may sew at your own pace and finish your quilt earlier/later than scheduled.
I hope you will join me in making Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Don’t worry if you can’t… I will have MORE RBW QAL in the coming months! Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a lovely rest of your week.
Hello friends, I hope you have been well! Happy Monday to you all! Can you believe it’s Today is our last check-in for Silver Lining QAL. I hope you have enjoyed making the blocks. I love making house blocks.
Silver Lining is an easy enough project to make in the summer as summer is busy for many.
It is my attempt to design a house quilt that has a fun little twist with the clouds. You can totally make the entire quilt with just the house blocks without the cloud blocks.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
You will need (1) Layer Cake + Background + Cloud Fabric.
Hello friends, I hope you have been well! Happy Monday to you all! Today is check-in #4 for Silver Lining QAL. I hope you have enjoyed making the blocks. I love making house blocks.

Today we are making the cloud blocks! My tip in handling small pieces is dry iron without steam, and finger press as much as possible until the very end. You may decide one cloud block is enough and replace the rest with more house blocks. That’s TOTALY fine!
Anyway, here are my cloud blocks.
Thanks for sewing along! I will see you at the next check in- on 6/30. Have a lovely rest of your week! We are just about there!

Today we are making more house blocks to reach the total number of 25 house blocks. I have 3 or so left, and all the pieces are cut and ready on my sewing table.

Today, we are making test blocks — house and cloud blocks! This is my second time making this pattern so, I just skipped the testing part, and went straight to the house blocks. I wanted to make the cloud blocks all at once. Here are my blocks for today.
A thought for you: If you just want easy sewing and don’t want to mess with the small pieces in the cloud block, you can totally substitute the cloud blocks with more house blocks. There should be enough squares from your Layer Cake for you to do that. Here is how your quilt would look. I actually quite like it as well!

Hello Friends, I hope you have been well! It’s hard to believe we are entering summer! It’s been a really busy year for me, and I look forward to sharing what I have been working on with you!

Hello Friends, I hope you have been well! Before I go on further, I want to thank you all for following me on Facebook and Instagram! If you haven’t, please follow me there! The interactions are just better on those platforms.
I hope you have been able to get some nice sewing/quilting done lately! It’s hard to believe we are in May already. And I am really happy to share with you today my quilt from Fat Quarter Shop’s latest Jolly Bar Volume 5 book!
If you aren’t familiar with the concepts of Jolly Bars – it’s the idea of making easy to construct quilts using precut 5″ x 10″ rectangles, which are half of a 10″ (Layer Cake) squares! The idea is really quite brilliant, and the quilt patterns in the Jolly Bar book are perfect for retreat projects, gifts, and just quick and easy sews!
I made Blueberry Pie from the Jolly Bar Volume 5 book. And I used the Nantucket Summer Jolly Bar bundle. Here are some pictures!
Finished at 38″ x 38″, this makes the perfect little table topper for your spring/summer tablescape, or just a light throw quilt for the spring evening! Notice I used a green fabric for binding — just to give the blue a little bit of a contrast.
