To talk about us.

Over the past year that we’ve been apart quite a bit has changed.

But some things remained the same.

Like how I loved you a year ago,

I still love you just as much today.

Though through our busy schedules,

Our presence in each other’s lives took a hit,

And blame the distance,

For the absence of physical presence.

Those were the darkest days,

The winter solstice of us.

But yearly when you return,

It’s the sunniest time,

The summer solstice of us.

I hope I don’t alarm you,

For that was not my intention.

But I’m here to tell you,

That with renewed vigor,

I will fight for you,

And sacrifice for you,

And cry for you,

To keep you,

By my side.

Others may try,

But I’ll try harder.

And I have faith,

That with your love,

Reciprocated to me,

We will stay together,

And be together.
