We made a fruit cake for my birthday.

One evening Katie was fussing, Rachel was crying because she needed to be fed, and I thought, "I will just quickly cut open this package of bacon and get it cooking while I go feed Rachel" My finger was in the way and I cut my finger more than I cut the package of bacon. I stuck my finger under cold water in hopes to clean and numb it. I stood there for about 20 minutes watching the sink fill with blood and wondering what I should do with my kids and if I needed to go get stitches. The kids were down stairs playing and I didn't want to call them up to help me because I didn't know how they would react to a sink full of blood. My sister was coming over that evening for another reason, so I called her to come sooner and when she got here she ended up taking my kids and when Jake got home he took me in to get 7 stitches. It ended up being really deep. My finger still does not have complete feeling, but I am glad that I still have the end of my finger

Baptism and Blessing

 We had a big weekend at the beginning of June. Hannah was baptized and Rachel was blessed. We had most of our family out and it was so much fun. I am so grateful for the Gospel and the peace and joy that it brings into my life. I am so blessed to have these two little angles, along with my other three, in my life.

Grandma Proctor made Hannah's dress for her baptism. She does such a great job.

Jake was able to baptize her. What a great weekend.

June

We went to a friends party and they had someone their making balloon art, and that is exactly what it was. He was amazing. He would create whatever the kids requested. Katie had a hat, Hannah had a dolphin, William and a monkey in a tree, and Brooklyn had Sleeping Beauty.

William's graduation

William graduated from Kindergarten in May. The class had a program where they sang songs and each had a speaking part. My favorite song they sang was, "God Bless the USA". He had the sweetest teacher, Mrs. Lee. He loved his Kindergarten year.

bike ride

 In May we celebrated the life of Grandpa Goodwin, a year from when he died. We went to his grave, Jake told us a story about Grandpa Goodwin finding Great, Great.... (I am not sure how many greats) Grandpa Isaac Goodwin's grave. Then Jake and Isaac took the kids on a bike ride from Grandpa Goodwin's grave to Isaac Goodwin's grave which is about 4 miles. What a beautiful day.

Hannah's birthday

Wow, do I have an 8 year old? Am I old enough to have an 8 year old?

Hannah is such a sweetie and we love her so much. Here was Katie helping Hannah blow out the candles.

Things I love about Hannah...
I love her desire to always do what is right. She is such a good example to her younger siblings. She is so helpful with doing her responsibilities each day and helping with the other kids. Katie doesn't enjoy her help all of the time, but it sure is nice. Hannah changed her first poopy diaper today without me knowing, and she did a great job. A lot of times she will get Katie out of bed, get her ready for the day and get her breakfast.
She is doing a great job continuing to learn  the violin and piano. It is fun to see her progress and see her enjoying it.
She loves her Grandmas. Earlier this summer she, along with William and Brooklyn, went and spent a few weeks with their grandparents in Nevada. Hannah cried when we left to come back home, and continued to cry when we got home. When I asked her why she was crying she said she was scared that she wouldn't see grandma Jeanne again.
Hannah loves dancing. I told her when she was 8 I would put her into a dance class. So this summer she has been going to class and she loves it.
She loves to read, play with her friends, and spend time with her aunts.
She is such a beautiful girl.
