Snow, Snow go away!

It's April 17th and still snowing! Mother Nature keeps tricking us into thinking summer is on it's way. We have had some beautiful sunny warm days that make me long for a day at the pool or a fun camping trip and then over night things change. In Texas we always said, wait an hour the weather will change, well the same is true here! We don't get a lot of rain, rarely a thunder and lightening storm and never any hail. But snow... yep we get a lot of that! And even thunder snow.... who knew there was such a thing. Yes it actually thunders when it snows in the spring... strange I know!
So I know I post pictures of the snow just about every time we get any substantial amount, but I can't help it. It amazes me every time, us Texans never get used to this much snow. And even though I am done with it for the year, I still find it mesmerizingly beautiful!
Image I love the snow covered trees - my favorite are the blue spruces in my yard. They have gotten huge!ImageImagethe park across the street
Image Jeremy couldn't get his car up the driveway into the garage. After sliding it side ways part way into the yard he decided to shovel himself a path.

And Adie having fun in the snow always makes me happy! There is nothing like the pure happiness of a child to make you smile.

Emery is 1 month old!

Image Our kids really grow up fast! Emery is already 1 month old! I took her picture with Minnie Mouse to be able to compare how quickly she grows. I am going to try to do this every month... but we will see how good at it I am.
This month so much has already changed! Emmy is able to hold her head up for short periods of time. She is pretty quite and only fusses when she wants to eat or needs her diaper changed. She has outgrown her "newborn" size clothes and is already wearing 0-3 months even though they are a little long. She sleeps most of the time but wakes some in the evening. We are all really enjoying her and as much as I would like to say I can't see what the next month will bring, I really honestly would just like her to stay a little newborn baby. This growing up thing just happens way to fast!

Cave of the Winds

As you can see from the few previous posts we had a very busy Easter Weekend! Colby was here and we celebrated his 12th birthday with 2 parties. And my brother Scott and his wife Jenna came to visit and meet Emery also! We were very excited to have everyone here and I was so sad when they all went back to Texas! Beyond all the parties and Easter we managed to squeeze in a few other activities as well!
On Saturday we drove down to Colorado Springs to go to The Cave of the Winds. It was a great time and Adie especially loved it because there were tunnels! When they turned out the lights so we could see just how dark it would be for cave explorers Adie loved it... after they were turned back on she was yelling "turn off the lights". Kids are so funny, you just never know what you are going to get!

We also filled up a lot of the weekend playing video games! It's Colby's favorite past time so we have been buying games that we can all play together for family game night. A favorite is Rock Band and our newest favorite is the Wii Fit... who knew you could ski and hula hoop on T.V. and the best part is your not just sitting on your butt! It's a ton of fun... in fact Jenna had such a good time with it she and Scott got one when they got home!

12 years ago on this day a sweet little boy was born! And although I was not there, I was still busy living it up in high school, I have heard lots of stories and seen lots of pictures of the momentous occasion! I know from experience that there where 2 very proud new parents that day and the feeling of your new baby being born is one that is indescribable! And now here we are 12 years later celebrating that day again! This year was a little extra special for Jeremy & I in that Colby was actually here for his Birthday! That doesn't happen very often, in fact I'm not sure if that has happened before at all! So we celebrated by taking him out to dinner at the Trail Dust! Colby loves ribs and it's just all in all a fun place to go!
Happy 12th Birthday Colby! We hope to get to celebrate another one with you soon!
We love you! Dada & Jamie

Colby's 12th Birthday Party

Colby's 12th birthday party was at Brunswick Zone where we bowled and played video games. As most of you know I love to throw parties and go to all extremes for them. Colby's birthday party was hard for me this year because I have been so busy with Emmy and because his previous years party, a movie party where we turned the living room into a theater complete with red curtain walls, was such a hit. So needless to say I was a little worried about how this one would turn out... but it was a great hit! Yeah! The kids and grown ups had a great time bowling! And the best part about it was I didn't have to clean my house! :)
We can't believe Colby is 12 years old!

Hoppy Easter 2009!

The kids enjoyed dying Easter eggs! Colby and I tried for tye-dye eggs but ended up giving up on that and just went for the solid colored ones! Adie really enjoyed dropping the eggs in the bowl and stirring them. Of course we had to becareful that she didn't drop the eggs to hard or stir the dye right out of the bowl.

Image anxiously waiting to get started... and of course they had to pose for a photo first!Image

ImageI really wanted a cute picture with the bunny ears but Adie was too busy stuffing her mouth with candy to cooperate! And I forgot to take a picture of her and Emmy in their Easter dresses... I think I will dress them back up and attempt it again soon!

Hope everyone had a great Easter with their families!
