I swear all I have been doing with this blog is playing catch up lately! So hear I am again... digging into the past to share our lives with you! We have been quite busy... so there is a lot to tell but definitely not enough time to share it!
Since my last blog about labor day a lot has gone on and it seems as if we are booked through November! Boy that makes me tired just thinking about it!
A few weeks after our labor day weekend trip to Palisades, CO we packed up the girls and headed East to NYC and Hoboken, NY where my sister & brother in-laws Paige & Eric live with their little girl Addison (1). NY is one of my very favorite places and I enjoy visiting every time we go! I will share pics in another blog... maybe a day to day look into our vaca. Needless to say we had a fantastic time visiting with family and taking in the sights of the city. I have to say it is very nice to go and not stand in line for all of the tourist attractions! It makes for a much more relaxed trip! I am sure we will do the attractions again sometime with the girls but for now they aren't much interested!
Towards the end of the trip Jeremy was sick so he stayed home the day after we got back. (day 6 off work). That very evening Adie came down with a high fever of 103 and it was official the swine flu had hit our house! The Dr. gave her tamiful and told her to keep herself away from Emmy. The flu in itself was not all that bad and she was doing great when her Motrin was working. The tamiflu was truly awful though and kept her throwing up everything she ate for 4 days! (5 day dosage). Poor thing was so hungry by the time she was finished with it. But by Wednesday of the following week she was back at school. (Jeremy missed 10 days total with vaca and sick days). So we are just plugging along through our fast paced lives!
Colby came into town on Oct 8th for his monthly visit. We had his Halloween party just like we do every year. We had planned to go to Elich's Amusement Park but the weather had other ideas! It was a mere 25 degrees that night so we opted for the bowling alley. We all had a great time and then headed home for some much needed rest! Saturday Colby came to us saying he didn't feel well, yep it struck again! Another 103 fever in the house. Poor Colby was quarantined to his room for the rest of the weekend and missed his flight home Sunday. Luckily for all of us the tamiflu was not as hard on his stomach and he escaped with a case of boredom. Colby returned home Tuesday just in time for Jeremy to get sick and Emmy to wake up with a fever of 102! Fantastic! Of course she is the one that scared me the most and after a visit to the Dr. and another confirmed case of the flu she has been home as well. Luckily I am happy to report that besides being tired and irritable and congested she is doing good. Her fever has broke so hopefully the runny nose and congestion will clear up quickly. (Jeremy now at 12 days off). I decided not to give Emmy the tamiflu seeing as how it treated Adie and the real reason for the tamiflu is to shorten terrible symptoms and keep everyone else from getting it. Seeing as how Emmy only has minimal illness and the whole house has had it (besides me, knock on wood) I didn't feel like her throwing up for 5 days was worth the stress and weight loss, hers not mine! :)
So needless to say it has been a fairly stress filled few weeks and I didn't even add in the demands at work. Yikes,no need to go there!
So today is Thursday and I have quite a few deadlines to meet before the next vacation.... yes there is another. On Saturday we are headed to Orlando to see my favorite Mouse! Yep were Disney World bound, for 8 days. I am super excited, but super exhausted too! And the most fun part is that Adeline is turning 3 on the 20th (next Tuesday). We are going to celebrate at Magic Kingdom and I am just so excited to share my love of Disney with her and Emmy.
So as you can all see, I am not a blog slacker, I just over do it in so many other areas! Did I mention that I thought in all my spare time I would sew the girls Halloween costumes too! Someone medicate me and remind me I am only one person and there are only so many hours in the day! 9 of which belong to RA Homes and 8 that are meant for sleep. But I can report that 1 have 1 Minnie Mouse dress complete and a skirt to sew on to the second one! Happy October everyone! Pictures will be posted soon!
