Henry was due Dec. 2 but he was not willing to wait. I went into labor three separate times before he came. The hospital was able to stop it once (which was a relief because he was only 32 weeks) and I was put on bed rest and had to get stress test for the him (he was having some complications during my contractions) He tried again two weeks later but I was able to stop it, and then the two weeks later he decided he was coming ready or not.
Jeremy was in california when I went into labor. Thankfully he was already flying back that night. So when I called him telling him I went into labor again I just asked him to try and get an earlier flight if he could (my labors tend to go really fast.) Well he couldn't and my labor didn't stop.
I had to call my sisters to help me with the kids and getting myself to the hospital, praying the whole time that Jeremy could make it. And then his flight got delayed, then my water broke, then his flight got delayed again, and my labor stalled. I am sure it was divine intervention.
By the grace of God Jeremy made it home at two in the morning instead of his flight being canceled all together (my fear.) We found out later that someone had called a bomb threat into the SLC airport which is why it was delayed over and over again. We were both able to get a quick nap in (epidural ftw) and at 7 we found out that there was a small sac of water that hadn't broken which is why my labor stalled.
At 9:02, and with half a push, Henry Alma entered this world. And my world was changed once again.
It took us the two days to land on Henry's name. I knew while I was pregnant that it was his name but it took a bit before it was official.
Alma is Henry's honorary name. He shares his middle name with his father, great grandfather, and Alma the younger. I have a feeling he will live up to the name.
Addie and Barrett love their new little brother. They have been so helpful and good.
