Dear, Sweet Granny

We got together today to celebrate Granny's 83rd Birthday. It was a big day of family, food and of course presents. :) We hope that you have a wonderful birthday, Granny! You're loved very much!!ImageNon-picture-cooperating Lila and her Great-Grandmother

Aunt Chashie

ImageImage Aunt Chashie came to visit and boy were we glad. It's an understatement to say that Lila loves her Aunt Chashie...she's obsessed with her. Lila literally followed her around all weekend -- took the best pictures with her, gave her the best love ... was attached to her hip. Lila loved every minute of her visit. Josh and I are so thankful that Lila has such a great aunt ... we love you Aunt Chashie!!!

War Eagle!

On Saturday, Lila, Casey, and I dressed in our Auburn colors and loaded up to go and walk around campus. It was H-O-T, but we had a good time just strolling around and being a part of the game-day hustle and bustle.

20 months

Happy 20 Months, Lilabug!!
Can't believe you're 4 months away from being 2!
Where does the time go!
Image

Lila has turned into quite a little girl over the past couple of months. Her vocabulary is huge, and she's able to name a lot of animals, things, and people. She's grown from never wanting to be rocked at bedtime to asking for it and snuggling up tight. She's learned the power of the word "no," and the consequences that it brings. She's gotten pretty good at throwing a tantrum, and is extremely independent. I was talking to her the other day and glanced over ... she was staring at me with her fingers in her ears. Her face said, "Hey, Mom. I just don't care." all over it. Below is a reenactment of her rudeness (after an incredibly messy dinner). ImageEvery afternoon, she comes in and we immediately have to put in Mickey Mouse or Barney or Elmo. She loves them. It's been too hot to play outside, and that's not been a battle I've been willing to pick after a long day of picking battles with 18 7 year olds. She usually ends up with us in the living room building blocks, coloring, or reading. It's the sweetest time with her. I love it!
ImageImage Every age is great, but I'm loving this one right now ... temper tantrums, no and all. She's so incredibly sweet and her hugs and kisses are the best!

The Weekend

So our sweet Lila is going to be so confused because in addition to dressing her in orange and blue and teaching her to say "Touchdown Auburn" with mama,
Image

we're also dressing her in crimson and white and teaching her to say "Roll Tide" with her daddy.Image

We figure she's got to learn to be respectful of both teams. She'll decide for herself one day.
Anyway, this weekend was a Bama weekend at the Cook house. Josh had a big get together at the house to watch the Alabama/Penn State game. We had tons of food and a lot of fun visiting with everyone. Lila had fun helping daddy cheer on his team.Image

We were also glad to have Casey with us this weekend! She picked Lila up from school on Friday and Lila was attached to her hip the rest of the time. Image

Please come back soon! :)
