Lila skis!!

We were able to spend some time with family and friends at the lake yesterday. They had this great ski trainer board that the kids got to use to learn how to ski. After several attempts (attempts that really frustrated Lila), she was able to get up on the board and ski. She did great, and I was so proud of her determination! Josh was driving the boat, and he said she kept a smile on her face the whole time. She's been talking about when she gets to go back and ski all day today!! :-)

A few iPhone pictures from our week in Madison. We had so much fun, and we are so glad that we were able to spend some time with Grammy, Papa, and Casey.
The girls love sweet Rudy.

Lila is 5 1/2!

My sweet girl turned 5 1/2 this past Wednesday! Our morning and plans got kind of messed up, but she did have her 5 1/2 birthday plate and some waffles. :-) Thank to Emily and her girls for treating her to the Monkey Park and Burger King for lunch. I know that made her day fun :-)
Some things about her at this age ... Lila at 5 1/2 is a doll. She is sweet, compassionate, and smart. She starts kindergarten in just three weeks -- I have a hard time believing that. She claims she's nervous -- worried that the other kids won't like her, but I think deep down she's excited -- apprehensive, but excited. She's quite athletic. She does really well at tennis and gymnastics. She has moved into the Level II class. She's nervous about that too ... clearly, she doesn't like change or new things. She's just like her mama. She is very sensitive and easily can have her feelings hurt or become embarrassed. She's reading more and more words, and we are working towards some books now...that's laziness on my part. She loves her friends and her family. She enjoys being a helper. She has started earning 50 cents here, $1 there when she helps out a lot with having to be asked. I am really enjoying watching her grow into such a sweet and capable little girl. I feel very blessed to be her mama.
Even if she can be a goober ;-)
