In the last four months, I've had some big changes in my life. And in the next three to four months, there will be even bigger ones coming my way. This makes me absolutely terrified in some ways. In other ways, it makes me grateful for what I have and the opportunities - known and unknown - that are out there. I am glad that I've had so many great influences in my life, so much support. Even though change is something that takes me a while to get used to, it's time. And I know that whatever needs to happen will happen. I'll share more in the next few months. But for now this is all I can share.
And just because, here's a picture I love of the city I love. It's taken from a rooftop that's right above the Guggenheim, looking out across the Central Park Reservoir to the west side. It may be the apartment of one of Warhol's muses:

Patterns of Light: Spirit of Revelation
This is a video of Elder Bednar talking about light, and how the light of Christ is in our lives (there are two others that are also really great). I love the analogies he gives of how we most commonly receive inspiration and light from the Lord. Many times we do not see the end clearly, but have to move forward a few steps at a time. It can be scary, but we do have to remember to put our trust in God. "I much prefer to follow His light."

Welcome Back!
I know, I know. You've all missed me. I've missed me, too. Here's the short update on me since coming back from Utah over Christmas:
- I was put on a new account (new to me and new to our agency)
- I've been working like crazy because of aforementioned account
- I have gone back to Utah for a few days for the family ski trip
- I won push-up contests against my teammates and bosses (that's right - plural contests {2})
- I've been working like crazy because of aforementioned account
- I took the Water Taxi across the East River to Ikea in Brooklyn (this was a first, and it was lovely)
- I had a much needed facial/salon
- I've been working like crazy because of aforementioned account
- I have been "planning" my next trip, meaning I've been letting my friend Erin plan this trip (We're going to ITALY! And then we're parting ways; I'm going to Paris and she's going to Geneva.). I cannot wait for this trip. I really do think it will be the most deserved trip I will take (at least up to this point in my life)!
- I've been working like crazy because of aforementioned account
So...That's what I've been up to in my neck of the woods.
And here are some pictures to get me excited!

Twelve Days of Christmas: Days 8-12
With all the rush of the holidays, finishing everything at work, traveling and spending time with family, I got a little behind on my posts for the last few days of the Twelve Days of Christmas. So here they are, all in one fell swoop. Lucky you!
Day 8:
I was put on a new account at work (read: new team, new responsibilities, new clients, lots and lots of meetings). This is really exciting and I am so grateful for this opportunity. We’ll see if I’m still singing that tune come the end of January, after I will have worked more than my fair share of late nights.
I’ve also realized how blessed I have been in my work situation(s). For the most part, I have been able to work with really great people. What a difference this makes!
Day 9:
I really love getting my nails done. I will treat myself once in a while. This time was a little different. I purchased a coupon for a gel manicure and decided this was the time to try it. It is awesome. The gel manicure is a little thicker than a normal manicure, is perfectly dry when you leave (no waiting time or fear of chipping/smudging the polish!) and supposedly lasts for up to two weeks. I can’t wait to see the results!
Day 10:
Now, I could have been really upset for the better part of this day. Travel Day, I'll call it. The lines at the LaGuardia airport were insanely long. But then they didn’t actually take that long, which was welcome by me and all the other anxious people in line. The plane that I was boarding came in late, delaying us and ultimately making me miss my connecting flight (I almost cried when I saw “departed” next to my flight on the departures board). Then I had the pleasure of sitting in the Memphis airport for four hours!
But during this time, I was able to meet two new friends and catch up with an old one. We all braved the “storm” together, and eventually made it to Salt Lake. And I am so grateful for flexible friends and family who are willing to change plans, come pick me up, etc., etc.
Day 11:
I am grateful for a place that always feels like home - Utah - because it is home. It’s where I grew up and learned and played and grew and learned some more (and some more). I have many, many memories of a good life growing up. Thanks to all of you for making those memories worth remembering - in a good way.
Day 12:
Merry Christmas! On this, the final day of the Twelve Days of Christmas, I am most grateful for my Savior and the wonderful gift He gave us. I know He’s the Savior, and that His way is the best way. I am happy when I follow His gospel. And I’d much rather be happy than...not.

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 6
The sixth day of Christmas is here! I am really grateful for the chance that I've had to live in such an awesome place - New York City. There really is nothing else like it. Is it the best for everything? No. It's not. But it's pretty great for so many things. And there's something wonderful about the city during "the holidays" (it's more PC and inclusive to say "the holidays" vs. "Christmastime). Everyone is a little nicer and friendlier. Everything is all decked out, including one very large Christmas tree:
So...Happy Holidays! And Merry Christmas!

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 5
I have always had such great friends in my life. Heavenly Father has definitely blessed me in this area. They have always been ones to encourage me to do good things, never trying to get me to go against my values and the gospel principles.
And today I am especially grateful for friends here in New York - you know who you are - who make this feel as close to home as I think I could get. I go to church with them. We make goals and are involved in one another's lives. Tonight, we made dinner, baked cookies, laughed a lot, shared and just loved being with each other. I couldn't have asked for better non-blood-family people to share Sunday with.
