Reunion Performance

What a group of good lookin' guys.

Joe was asked to do a musical number in church this past Sunday.

He got the old tried and true musical group from high school back together.

They were so willing to help out,
 but bribing them with lunch after only sweetened the deal.

The musical number was amazing!

It is always good to see them,
 and we had a great time entertaining and chatting too.

Felling Well Rested...

A couple of weeks ago,
 Joe and I spent the week in Midway at our family's cabin.

We took advantage of the beautiful surroundings....

We walked around the small streets.

We jumped on the trampoline and read in the summer sun!

We enjoyed movies and games,

all the good things that help you to relax.

We loved having horses so near by...

This was the first time Joe had ever touched a horse!!!

She was very sweet and gentle.

After we had some time to relax all by ourselves,

my darling parents joined us to finish up the weekend.

We took the boat out onto Strawberry for some fishing.  

While we were on the water, the wind and rain had some fun with us.

We were soaked,

and we did not catch a thing!!  Darn!

After deciding to come in away from the storm,

 we had a whale of a time getting the boat out of the water and into the trailer.

Joe had to jump in the water to help push the boat into position.

(If he was not soaked before, he was definitely soaked now.)

We actually rocked to boat to get it into place.

It was a very long and wet morning but,

it will be a memory we will not soon forget.

And neither will we forget our wonderful weekend.

Crisis Averted

Over the past few weeks, our apartment has had a strange smell coming from somewhere near the kitchen.

We recently installed our air conditioner and thought some of the smell was coming from there.

We brushed it off with no more thought,
thinking it would just go away with time.

However, the smell continued to get worse and stronger.

Yea!

Everything came to a head with past week.

Joe went into our hall closet to grab a pair of shoes.

As he walked into it, his foot got wet.

The carpet in our closet was soaking wet!

We immediately called maintenance to come and find our problem.

When they arrived they removed panels in our walls to expose the pipes.

They found that every time we turned on our kitchen sink,

a stream of water was falling from one of the pipes!

There was water flowing down toward our oven and toward our hall closet.

I am so glad that we found our stinky problem!

Everything is patched up and fixed now, Thank Goodness!!!

Joe and I worked together to make a whiteboard for our back door.

It suits our needs perfectly!

Happy USA Day...and Some Sad Canada News

 We had a fabulous 4th of July!

Our day began with the traditional Hague Family Breakfast!

We enjoyed good food and good conversation.

Around noon we Skyped with Alisa, Euan and Eleanor in Scotland!

It was wonderful to see them and talk with them!

Then we relaxed from a morning in the heat with some movies and tacos.

What is more American than that? 

We switched from movies to games and played Five Crowns before dinner.

We had a BBQ beef brisket, baked beans, corn on the cob and brownie sundaes for dessert!

Yum!!!

I love holidays that are focused around good food!

After dinner we walked Sammy, our beloved family dog.

We ended the night standing in the backyard watching the fireworks.

 

In international news...

Joe and I have planned a vacation to CANADA!!!

Unfortunately, we won't be able to go on it.

We planned our trip for October of this year.

This fall, however, is going to be a busy time for Joe as he prepares to apply to grad school.

And he needs to take one of the required tests (which is only offered twice a year) during what was going to be our Canada trip.

Oh well...

We will plan a trip to Canada in our future.

A Digital Surprise!

 Wait...this is Nathan's room!

 What!  Nathan!!!

 Guess who got a hold of our camera this weekend!

Nathan did!

Nathan just had two surgeries to take out his tonsils

 and then to cauterize them.

He has been so tired...

We were all downstairs enjoying a movie

and Nathan went upstairs to color and eventually take a nap.

I guess in between those activities he had enough energy to take some

photos of his room!

We love our Nathan!

Summer Yee-Haw!

 Joe and I went to the Rodeo again this year!

We brought along our friends Jason and Janelle.

This was Janelle's first Rodeo!!!

 We had so much fun!

We had excellent seats where we could see everything.

 Yee-Haw!!!

 The two of us enjoying the summer weather at the Rodeo.

 Last year we did not see the chuck wagon race.

It was so neat to see "BYU" race against the "U."

Unfortunately, the back two wheels fell off one of the wagons

and the race was pretty easy to win for the opposing team.

It was awesome!

You know how at many Rodeo events there are t-shirts thrown into the crowd?

Well, Joe has some really long arms and he reached up and caught one!

We had a great night with our friends and with each other!
