Going Private

We are making our family blog private and I'm also switching up some things. I've wondered what the purpose of this blog is and I want this one to be more a family record and pictures and memories. I'm starting a new blog that will be dedicated to more of the deep thoughts in my brain and things I'm learning on my personal journey in life:) So those are the changes happening. If you would like to be added to our list for the family blog, let me know, even if we don't know each other super well. I love sharing things and my family and our lives and I don't want to make anyone feel left out- so you are so welcome to keep updated. Just let me know so I can add you to the list allowed to view- no big deal.

Fall Fun Corn Maze and More

We were basically the only ones there for the last part of the day. It was personalized and fun to meet the people running the show.

Of course G wanted to go in the caboose. I've been there before with tons of screaming kids in the back part of the train- never thought I would be riding back there but I caved since we were the only ones.

All to ourselves. NO long lines!

It was the most GLORIOUS day! So beautiful those clouds and the sun- I couldn't get enough of the light rays peeking around the clouds and the mountains! SHEESH!

It's funny taking pictures with Jay. I saw this one and it totally captures love in my eyes. Do you see it? Is it too mushy? Oh well. If we can celebrate love before marriage- I don't see what the problem is showing my love after 5 years of marriage. I still love him. And even more.

Okay enough about our love- ha ha. But that was fun that Jay wanted to take pictures with me so I took advantage of that :)

I couldn't stop with the light and the dust and clouds- it was so so gorgeous.

We got real serious with our bee bee gun competition and tomahawk throwing.

Jay won both competitions- he's really good.

Okay guys, and this corn maze- are you kidding me? This was legit. We had to consult the map and it took about 1/2 hour to make it through- we were thoroughly impressed.

Grant says, "I'm so nice! I help Esther!" This melted my heart a lot watching him guide her through and help her up when she fell.

Turns out I lost my watch so Jay went back in the dark while the kids and I ate hot dogs and took a wagon ride. Grant says we need to buy a tractor.

Precious moment! Grant was super exstatic that he had TWO shadows! He just sat there yelling joyfully how cool it was and that there were "TWO GRANTS!"

We found my watch in the snack bag later. So weird- I totally thought I remembered looking at it in the maze.

It was such a perfect beautiful day. I love my family. They are the greatest joy I have ever known.

The Zoo and Labor Day

We headed up to good ol' P-town for Labor Day.
My dad's birthday was the 8th and we asked him what he wanted. He said family pictures so we rounded everyone up and went in the back yard. Usually I'm the one that gets the charge of trying to get everyone matching but this time we just showed up and just said "Go change to match us"- SO much easier that way. I think that will be how we do it from now on.

And look: It looks totally fine with like 99% less stressing about matching. Everyone did really well finding something don't you think?

Yay! So happy birthday dad and I'll hopefully have some time to play with it and edit it in my photoshop since this one was done with picasa.

Then on Monday my mom woke up and said, "Let's go to the zoo!" She had gotten 1/2 off coupons from papa murpheys the other week so we got a couple more and headed to the Hoogle Zoo! I've been wanting to go and I didn't know that September was the last month they would have the Jurassic display and Grant is so obsessed with dinosaurs so of course we couldn't get enough of those. Huge giant robotic dinos.

My mom had to work so she only got to stay for not even an hour with us. That's how she is though- she'll get everyone going somewhere even if she can't. She's the reason we even went! Thanks for making us go have fun mom! Hopefully we can do it with you next year!

They had a worker play like she was scared of birds and fall in the pool again! My whole family was fooled! Ha ha! They were REALLY good actors this time though- seriously- wow.

A little boy next to G told him the dinos weren't real- "if they were real they'd come and bite your head off!"

Turn around so I can see your face- put your arms out. "I don't know how to do that!"
