Well a lot has happened since the last blog. As you may already know, I was "laid" off from my job of 11 years. Not very exciting, I know. Was a very hard time for me because I never thought they would want to let me go. But they did. Sad! Anyway, to get away from reality, I decided to take a small trip to see family. So I took off to SLC and Wyoming. It was a very nice and well needed trip. My sister in law Jenni took me hiking and site seeing. The fall up there is BEAUTIFUL! Then drove to WY to see my other sister in law and Jon's brother Jay. Was a short trip but just as fun. They took me to the top of a mountain to catch the sunset and see wild horses. That was cool except the horses were far away so you really can't tell what they were. Anyway, the kids are good. Amy is loving school and doing very well. She is still in Art and Tech clubs. She wants to be an architect. Donny is in football and band still. No baseball yet. Next year. Jon is fine, nothing new with him. With me not having a job, I am constantly doing something around the house. And going to check on Gramma and Grampa. Mom had knee surgery so I go and check in from time to time.
Here are a few pics of my trip. Hope all is well for everyone. Love to all. I didn't put all on it but there are a few. To beautiful not to put up.

Beach Vacation with Family
Hello all,
The kids and I went to Port Aransas with my side of the family for a little vacation. It was great to see them all. Especially my cousin from Louisiana. We haven't seen them in quite a long time. Got to see her little ones. Especially Shalyn which is only 9 months. She was a cutie. Anyway, glad to be out of the sand! Not so sure glad to be back to reality? Vacation could have been longer.
Other than that, there isn't much going on here. Amy has started summer school and Donny just sleeps all day. But that is to be expected with Teenagers during the summer!
Love to all,
Deana, Jon, Amy and Donny

Summer has begun
Well our summer has officially started here in Houston. Not much going on. Our friends got married last weekend and that was a nice time. Jon and I were both in the wedding so I got to see him all dressed up and handsome(er). Amy looked very nice as well. She took some pics which I'll share. Donny was picked for the All Stars team. So we started practicing. But of course, last Sunday, he decided to do a pull up at our neighbors house and came home and said he messed up his arm. He extended it and all I heard was POPPING. So on Monday I took him to the 24 hour ER and they put him in a sling because he couldn't be sure if there was a break and said no baseball! And to go see a ortho dr. Yesterday we went and he looked at the xrays and still don't know if there is anything broken. But put him in a splint and sling and we go back next week to do another xray to see if there is any change. The tournaments start on Monday so we will go and support the team, just not play. Now comes Jon's dads 75th birthday today. So we are getting together to celebrate tonight. Just wish the whole family could be here. We will take lots of pics.

Spring Break
Spring Break has come and gone. The kids and I went to San Antonio with my sister and her kids. It was fun. We went to the Ripley's Museum and the Wax Museum. Interesting actually. Took pictures at the Alamo. Didn't tour because the lines were CRAZY! Walked around the Riverwalk and did some shopping at Market Square. I hate going downtown in any city. I got lost just about every time we left our hotel. Thank goodness Donny was there to help with the map. Except the time I turned down a street going the wrong way. That was fun! (not really) Good thing no others were on that street. Cops included! Other than that short break, we haven't been doing to much. Amy has almost finished drivers ed. She is doing the driving part with the school now. Every time we go somewhere, she pretty much drives. Will take some time for me to get used to not being the driver! Anyway, hope all is well with everyone.

Hello everyone. Sorry it's been a while since updating the blog. Holidays are now over so life has slowed a bit. Don't have much to report since last blog. We had my nephew Jacobs birthday in Dec. then on to Christmas. The kids and I went to my cousins in Austin on Christmas day and hung out with family. It was great. There were about 25 people at her house. Yes, we all stayed there too. It was crowded but alot of fun. Aunt Jenni came down during then to and so we had to go to "Dang Good Dip" (Monterreys Tex Mex) many times. Yummy!! Anyway, new year and the only thing we have going is the beginning of Baseball for Donny. Amy has a few art projects going and I can't wait to see them.
Well here are a few pictures of our Holidays. Hope you all enjoy. Talk to you soon.
Love you all,

Our Busy LIfe
Well it's been a while since I've updated the blog. Since the Hurricane, we have been quite busy! First Jon and I went to Las Vegas with a few friends. Just a little trip to "get away". Had fun. Lost some. Then we came back and had Donny's birthday. Aunt Jenni flew in to visit so we took Donny to Laser tag. That was fun. No pictures though. That same night was Amy's homecoming. So she wasn't able to go with us. She enjoyed the dance as always. Then it was off to Phoenix for our Susan G. Komen walk for the cure. That was a blast! There were about 12 of us that walked for the cure. Our team was the "Boo Bees". Was a catchy name huh. Anyway, we had a boo bee party. It was really a surprise birthday party for Amy. She had NO idea. It was great. She was able to celebrate her birthday with family that doesn't live in Houston anymore which was cool. When we came back from Phoenix, it was time to get ready for Amy's real Sweet Sixteen party. She wanted a costume party. So all her friends showed up dresses in their best or worst costume. Then half of them stayed the nite at the house. I told her that I think I'm done with parties! She agreed! YIPPEE!!!!! Anyway, with all that above, we still had football games and Donny's band performances. Which I have missed because of all things going on. But we won't miss anymore band performances. So there is my hectic life of Sept. and Oct. Hope all is well with everyone and talk to you all soon.

Hurricane Ike
Well we all made it through the storm ok. Had some tree issues, missing shingles. Loss of power but we were one of the lucky ones and got our power back on on Sunday morning. We did have a generator so we watched the storm all night and into the morning. I remember Alicia coming through back in the 80's but of course I was younger so I don't know how this storm compares. And all we could do was play in the water. I can say that I have never witnessed the kind of destruction like this before. There were many trees, powerlines and fences laying around our neighborhood. Some flooding within Tomball but since I didn't make it into Tomball, I'm not sure to what extent. Here are some pics of our "minor" damage.
Love to all,
Deana
