Happy Halloween!!

We've been getting ready for Halloween!  The beginning of my favorite time of year.  Every year we have a get together at our house to watch the AL vs TN game and to carve pumpkins.  Even though the ball game hasn't had the greatest outcome for us the past couple of years, its still nice to have everyone over.

We went over to the Pittman's for a Halloween party as well.  Check out our costumes this year.
This is me and my old hag!  :)

Isn't she hot??

I'm proud to say that I clean up pretty well myself.

My brother Earl came to the party too!

Needless to say we received all kinds of comments that night on our attire!!

She's Growing

Our doctor's visit went great last Wednesday. Her heart rate was in the 130's and my uterus measured 22cm which is right where it needed to be.  Total weight gain so far 13lbs and growing! According to my weekly emails Abby is now approximately 1 lb and 11 inches long.  Its amazing how fast they grow!

A couple of weeks ago I was able to use the ultrasound machine at work and sneak a couple of shots.  Big difference from our last one.  It was the neatest thing to see her move and kick around.  Things are definitely getting a lot tighter in there for her!

Speaking of moving and kicking, John was finally able to feel her move for the first time last Saturday while we were in Gatlinburg with friends.  He was really excited and says she's going to be a soccer player.

We were able to rent a cabin with two other couples that are close friends of ours.  The weather was perfect!  I got some good deals at the outlet malls, and John enjoyed hiking with the boys.  It was a much needed weekend getaway with great friends!

Getting Things Ready!

I have received nothing but good comments and phone calls about the blog so I'm really happy that everyone likes it!  I enjoy doing it, and its special because now everyone gets to be apart of our journey.

My Mom recently gave us The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian, and I'd have to say that this has been the best gift.  I highly recommend it for any new parents.  With working on an OB floor where I see the best and the very worse that could happen during a pregnancy, it has been a struggle not to worry.  I have had to really pray about it, and this book has helped with that tremendously.  I know that everything is in God's hands, and He has had an umbrella of protection around both her and me since the very beginning.  What an awesome God we serve!  Plus how could I forget that we have all of you praying for us as well.
We go this Wednesday for our next appointment so please keep us in your thoughts. :)

Anyways, we have gotten some things accomplished around here.......

  Furniture Ordered!!
John and I picked out and ordered Abby's furniture.  I am really glad to have that done. It should arrive in about 6 weeks.  And we can't forget to mention Abby's "other" grandparents Roger and Dottie for their generous donation.  This is what her crib looks like.

Bedding Bought!!
My Mom aka Nana came down to Alabama, and we picked out her bedding together.  Its going to be so pretty!  I think we are going to paint the walls a pale pink and put up some white wainscoting paneling at the bottom with chair rail.

Grammy Strikes!!
John's Mom aka Grammy came down to visit a couple of weekends ago too, and when she left this is what Abby's closet looked like.  We are very thankful and can't wait to see her in them!!!

And of course Mommy had to buy a cute girly outfit for her angel.

As you can see things are coming right along.  Any volunteers to help paint????!!!!!!

Welcome!!

Well, I figured I would try out this whole blog thing since we are expecting our first little girl in February.  I hope that this will help our family and friends feel more apart of our lives here in Alabama.

We found out we were expecting last June.  I ended up peeing on 4 different sticks before we came to the conclusion that this was actually happening, lol!  We were so excited and blessed that God gave us such a wonderful gift!

We told our parents on Father's Day by surprising our Dad's with bibs that said I love Grandpa.  John's parents didn't get it at first, they thought the bib was for our nephew Tristan.  We all had a good laugh about that.  Needless to say everyone was shocked and excited!!

We found out it was girl at the beginning of September.  I just knew it was going to be a boy, we had a boy name picked out and everything.  But God surprised us with a healthy beautiful girl, and man were we both in disbelief at first!  After the ultrasound tech walked out of the room, John and I just looked at each other.  I wish I could have been a fly on the wall.  I immediately thought of her wedding day, boys, teenage drama, the list could go on and on.  All of which will be an amazing adventure filled with so many happy moments that I can't wait for.  Abby already has her Daddy wrapped around her finger and she's not even here yet. We told our family by getting them all together to watch our ultrasound on video.  You can see where she types its a girl, and immediately my Mom and Jasmine screamed and jumped for joy!

I am 20 weeks now so half way through this whole pregnancy thing.  It has been an adventure so far, from the vomit coming out my nose to the beginning of stretch marks.  But the whole process truly is a miracle and I can't wait to meet our sweet Abby Grace.  I know she will be worth it all!
