Moving

On my birthday in 2005 we signed the closing papers on this house in Provo.

We lived here for 8 years.  This house and our neighborhood will always hold a special spot in my heart. Every time I think about going back for a visit in the neighborhood I feel tears well up in my eyes and my heart hurts.

Jeff and I got married in 2004 and we moved 9 months later to this house.  I was excited to get pregnant and be full-time mom but I could not get pregnant for a long time (3 years).  It was hard for me. When I finally announced that I was pregnant the celebration I felt from my neighbors and friends was so moving.  One friend stopped by my house after she heard the news and when I opened the door she stood there with tears in her eyes and told me how much she prayed for me to have a baby.  Then I found out there were a few other people who were praying for me too.  It meant the world to me.

As we pondered moving to a different house, I felt like it was the right decision and knew I would be sad. But I didn't know it was going to be that hard to leave these people who have been a part of my life and loved me and my family.

A few days before we moved we biked over to our favorite spot on the Provo River trail that has a swing in a super tall tree.

You can catch some serious height on this swing.
We all did the swing.  It is such a rush.

There were so many people I wanted to go visit and say goodbye too but time slipped away from me and I was only able to visit a few and I took only one picture of one of our dear friends, Adele. I love her.

Moving day came and it was terrible, of course.  Who really has a great moving day?  We had to make 3 trips in our big moving truck and it was so hot.

We moved to Lindon to this house below.  It is our temporary home until our home is finished in Lehi.

There isn't as much room in this house as our old house so our garage is packed.

The dining area has light-colored carpet in it so for a few days our kids ate in the kitchen like this until we could find a rug to place under the table.

The kids love the backyard patio.  It is west facing so they have played out their practically every morning collecting bug and rocks, playing with the water table, riding their tricycles, squirting their spray bottles and much much more.

The house sits below Timpanogas mountain.  I love that mountain and so it has been fun having it so close so I can look at it everyday from my windows and when I walk outside in my front yard.

This was the sunrise one morning on one of my walks.  Gorgeous.

Megan's Wedding

I'm so behind on my blogging but better late than never.

On June 8, Jeff's sister Megan got married in the Provo Temple.  She moved to Phoenix last fall and was set up on a date with Ryan and fell madly in love.

After the temple we had a luncheon at a church.

After the luncheon Ben gave Megan a hug like this for 10 minutes.  He wouldn't let go.

The reception was in my in-laws back yard.

Those are some pretty good looking brothers.  I especially think the one on the right is a babe.

I had to post some pictures of their decorated car because that used to be my car!  I bought it in 2004 in Boise right before I met Jeff.  I sold it to my in-laws a few years ago.

There they go!!

The 4th of July 2013

On Independence Day we had the most relaxing day at my in-laws' house.  Jeff's sister's, Nickie, was there too with her family. We started off the day with breakfast.  Pancakes and a breakfast casserole in the backyard on their patio.

Then my mother-in-law had a request from one of her grandchildren to tell a story about America or Independence Day.  So she talked to them about flags and the important of flags.

Then they worked on making their own flags with paint

Later I made my favorite green smoothie for everyone.
Image
It is the Green Monster Smoothie.  Here is the recipe:
1 Cup of soy milk
1 T Peanut Butter
1/2 scoop of protein powder
1 apple
1 frozen banana
2 cups of spinach

Image
We brought our inflatable pool for the kids to play in.  They had a ball and played in it for about 4 hours!!
Image
I tried to take some pictures of them but I couldn't quite capture the ultimate fun they were having.  Then my father-in-law posted the picture below on Facebook.  It captured the look of absolute delight  they were experiencing.  I love it.

Then it is tradition to make a cake that looks like a flag with blueberries and strawberries.

Awww!  Total relaxation.

I love going to my in-law's house.  It feels like a resort where I can go to get away from the cares of the world.
