Turtle Baby Quilt

A week or so ago, I made a baby quilt for a dear friend of mine. My Grandma wasn't able to see it before I mailed it off. So, here it is Grandma! It's a crib-size quilt. The backing is a fleece-type alphabet fabric.

Closeups of the two turtle fabrics. My friend dearly loves sea turtles, so I had to put them in this quilt.

So, there you go Grandma! This is the quilt I made.

Catching up

Yes, I've been neglecting my blog. Sorry. I wasnt healing as well as I thought I was going to. I'm finally to wear I'm able to sit up with the laptop long enough to do anything. Before, I was using the browser on my iPhone. :)

So, I'm gonna play catch up. This is gonna be a rather long, pic heavy post.

Alvin's transition to his big boy bed went better than anyone would have EVER guessed. He went to bed with no fuss and slept all night. The second night, he fussed for 10 mins, and passed out. We've not had an issue since. I'm so blessed to have a 3 year old with the tempermant this boy of mine has.

Then, Erin's birthday was upon us. I feel sooooo bad for her. We had been talking up having her first ever sleepover with friends. Unfortunately, I wasnt feeling up to having a bunch of 6 and 7 year olds under my care overnight. So, Erin's party/sleepover has to be pushed back. Luckily, Jackie as always was completely wonderful. She made Erin strawberry with strawberry frosting (Erin's favorite) cupcakes and delivered them on Erin's Bday. It totally made Erin's day.

Then that Saturday, we took her to Build-A-Bear and let her pick out ANY animal and outfit she wanted. Unfortunately, I dont have pics of that. It was all I could do to even go to the mall to do this for her.

Then, the other day, Eric took Alvin for his 3 year checkup. He was 36 inches tall and was 30 pounds! He was 20 % for height and 15% for weight. Dude, he hit the charts! Woo hoo!. His head was still in the 75%. No big surprise there.

I cant promise that I'll keep this as update as I should, but now that I'm feeling better, it WILL be updated.

Busy Busy Day

Image So I start off this morning actually waking up to the alarm. Which, for anyone that knows me, this means I actually slept for once. Yay sleep! Woo hoo. So, I get up, get the kids up, get Emali off to school. Then its time to relax just a bit before I head down to Waterford to meet Jackie for coffee! I love Jackie. She is such a sweetheart. So, we (me, Erin, and Alvin) get ready and head out the door, only to be met by this big spider. I swear this thing is a good 4 inches from leg to leg. Freaky. Really neat looking, But he is a big son of a gun. So yeah, closed that door and went out the side door. But, I had to take a picture just so everyone can see what is lurking out my front door.ImageImage

So, we get down to Borders and Erin spots this kitty cookie. Which, of course, she just had to have. So, kitty cookie and organic chocolate milk. Yummy! I had myself a Iced Vanilla coffee and a piece of pumpkin spice cake. Double yummy. Jackie came and we had a long good conversation. I love Jackie. Her son, Than, is getting so big. He is so adorable too. I really hated having to go, but Alvin was getting fussy. I found out later that it was because he was tired. Considering he passed out on the way home and didnt wake up for 2 hours. Then Emali came home and it was timeImage to head to Walmart to pick up Emali's new Hannah Montana glasses. I think she did really good at picking out glasses. It is going to be weird seeing her with them on. But, she already says that she is seeing much better. Woo hoo! Then its grabbing a quick bite to eat at McDonald's and off to Emali's school to watch "Nim's Island". So all in all, it was a very busy day.Image These are pictures of the kids at Em's school getting ready to watch the movie.Image Image
