Spouse Group Hike and Hambricks In NC

A few weekends again we headed out on a hike with the Duke Div Spouse Group at the Eno River.

 It was a small group because it was a Saturday morning during break between Spring Semester and Div summer internships.

 

We all brought picnic lunches for after the hike.

 Last Wednesday our dear friends the Hambricks came into town. They had a wedding in a nearby city last weekend, and came to Durham a few days early to spend some time with us. It was wonderful to see both of them! They said that they would come to Durham sometime, and they did!

 We spent some time in the beautiful Duke Gardens.

 

 Of course, we took them to the famous Cameron Indoor.

 We headed to Wrightsville Beach on Thursday for a little sunshine!! I try to go to the beach anytime I have a free day.

 Dane and Adam played a little football on the beach.

 We had dinner outside at the Oceanic.

We took the Hambricks to Foster's on Friday morning. I headed back to work Friday night and the Hambricks headed to the wedding. Thanks for coming to visit us dear friends. We love you and miss you! It warmed our souls to spend time with you. See you in August!

Womack Vacation 2012

Last week Dane and I headed to a cabin near Bryson City, NC for vacation with the Womacks! We had such a great time. Dane's brother was able to come up from Florida and his parents met us from Arkansas. We had all visited the Gatlinburg area on a previous trip, so we wanted to try a new Smoky Mountain location. Our cabin was perfect. The time went by too fast.

We arrived on Tuesday night. Wednesday we headed out exploring the area. We were near several famous rivers.

 

 

 We had burgers at Jimmy Mac's in Bryson City.

 The area is famous for kayaking.

 We headed out for a 6 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail on Thursday. Turns out the trail was 10 miles. :)

 On Friday we headed to Ashville, NC to check out the Biltmore.

 The Womacks

On Saturday the men went rafting. The women read books and watched television. We also grilled burgers that night for dinner. Sunday we went to church in Bryson City and then ate Pasqualino's Italian Restaurant for Mother's Day. Corey left Sunday night and everyone else headed back on Monday.

Dane and I love to spend time with our families. Thanks to the Womacks for a great vacation!!
