Good Times had by ALL

Jason and I got to volunteer for the Ragnar Wasatch  Back Relay.  We didn't get to see our team at the exchange, because they were just too fast!!  But we did get to see my two cousins. I have  the up most respect for every single one of those runners. On the way to the exchange, Jason asked me if I ever wanted to work up to running part of it.  As much as I think it would be awesome, I will not ever be able to run it.  So I will happily volunteer and cheer on anyone else who is brave enough to run.

We finally caved and bought a nice DSLR camera.  We are the proud owners of a Canon EOS Rebel T3.  Here are some of the shots that I have gotten recently. ..  Enjoy!

Las Diez Virgenes

I have the opportunity to be a part of a fabulous production of the 10 Virgins that is being done by our Stake. However as you may have guessed by the title of this post, I am in the Spanish cast. :) I was originally planning on being part of the English speaking cast, but yeah stuff like this happens for a reason I guess.

Tonight was opening night. We performed for the Spanish speaking members of the stake. It went great. It is amazing to see how many things fought against this production from the very beginning. I see that as a testament to how important it is.

We perform again on Saturday evening at 6pm, for those who speak spanish, and the English cast will be performing at 8pm. You should come! I know I have a lot of people who read this ... It is being done at our stake center. I don't know the exact address, but it is the church building on 400 E just to the south off of 1600 S in Orem. You can contact me directly for better directions. :)

I forget how much I love doing theater!!! I haven't been a part of any productions since high school and I have to say I miss it. Whenever we go to plays I always think that I would love to get back into doing it again, but then my chicken voice pipes up and talks me out of it.

There is a lot more to this story, but I am tired and need to go to sleep. I am finally crashing- the post performance rush is gone. :) Night!

No Noose is Good Noose...

Well I saw the Dr, and honestly it wasn't worth the copay. He told me I could take my medication again, said all my symptoms were normal for being off my meds (Duh!) Then as it seemed that he was looking at the results from my scan for the first time right there in the room with me, he discovered that whoever wrote the report made no mention if there was uptake in the neck area. He said he would have to get some clarification on the report, but was non-commital as to when he would know anything. He said that we would just have to wait and see over the next 6 months to really find out if whatever was showing up has either been killed, or not.

I am getting a second opinion. I just don't know from where yet.

I am not exactly pleased with the way that this treatment/situation was handled by the dr's office. I like the guy, but when I call 3 times to get an answer as to when I can start my medication again and no one calls me back, then they tell me that they have no record of my calls, but that he noted my record to say that I could have been back on my meds a week earlier (but no one bothered to tell me that...) my confidence in his ability to meet my needs takes a nose dive.

So if you know any good endo's in the area let me know.

Next Step

So quarantine will officially be done as of tomorrow ... I am so excited about that!!! I get to go back up to Salt Lake and have another scan done because according to the dr, the scans following a higher dose of iodine are much more accurate... Go figure! I already had an appt scheduled with my dr for Friday, so I will keep that and get the results then. I am so hoping that he says that I can go back on my medication! The dr that ordered the iodine for me thought I should have been able to start back on that on Sunday, but when I tried to confirm that with my dr, he still hasn't bothered to return my call.

Because the stuff makes me and everyone else nervous, Jason will be coming home Friday after work, which will give me time to decontaminate the house by scrubbing- not once but twice, everything I have touched. So, all the laundry has to be washed twice, the dishes, the bathroom etc. I am so looking forward to that. :S I will be working from home until Thursday, and will head back to the office after my dr appt on Friday. Although, depending on the news I may not be much good to them.... we will play that one by ear.

In other news, both chocolate and Dr Pepper have been ruined for me. Which may not be such a bad thing if you think about it. But it is so SAD! I had one M&M to celebrate that I didn't have to be on the nasty diet anymore and it tasted so horrible I had to spit it out and go brush my teeth. Blech! Normal things don't taste the same, but I expected that from last time. This goes way beyond that. :(

All in all the diet (Low iodine diet) isn't really all that bad, but it sucks when you don't have the energy to cook every night, and the worst part is just that it has so many things you CAN'T eat that you feel like there isn't ANYTHING you can eat. Feeling deprived is not a good motivation.

So, back to the waiting game!

Cold Feet

I have cold feet. I do mean that literally not figuratively as I am already married and have in fact partaken of the radioactive 'koolaid'. It is just a symptom of being off of my synthroid medication for such an extended period, but when two pairs of socks doesn't cut it... BRR! It is also funny enough to mention that my hands are cold as well but one seems warmer than the other. Go figure.

Today was a good day. I got a lot of work done, although much slower than usual as the remote access is quite delayed in some programs. It was also nice to just roll out of bed, go to work for a few hours in my pj's and THEN take a shower on my 'lunch break'. :) One good thing about quarantine is that there is no one around to complain when I use up ALL the hot water hehehehe.
